South Central Veterinary Services is a family-owned and -operated vet hospital. The clinic was started by Dr. John L. Walla, DVM, who has been in practice since 1993. Dr. Walla is an LSU graduate who traveled with his wife Melissa to Louisiana to aid in the rescue of stranded animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

I just want to say how amazing everyone was! They kept me up to date on my girl’s surgery and recovery. Tanya and Kristina was so helpful and made me feel like she was in the best care and at the right place. I feel so lucky to have found them and we traveled over an hour just to go there. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my sweet Millie, now she’s on the fast track to a speedy recovery! ❤️ We definitely will be telling everyone about this amazing vet and team!

Kessa was just one of 7 puppies in this litter that we rescued from a bad home environment. The veterinarians and staff at South Central Vet Clinic always provide Excellent Service! I really liked them at first. However, when I had a pet pass away, I chose to cremate her and really wanted her back. They could not find her ashes and I called many times and tried for like a year and they did nothing to help me. They blew me off and tried to tell me I had to track her down with whatever place they sent her to. So, I never got my dog’s ashes. Who knows where she is. I’ve since moved all my pets to a different vet. Very sad.

I have been using this vet for many many years I would not take my animals anywhere else. I took my wolf/boxer mix to another vet when she was 19yrs old they said we should just put her down. I then went to Dr. walla a few days later and they were amazibg and showed more kindness than the other vet had.
