A collective of pretty cool guys with more than 10 years of experience capturing weddings and events on the Central Coast of California. Blake Andrews is admittedly addicted to photography. When he was 14, Blake won a camera from the local newspaper and the rest was history. Photography quickly became his means for documenting life: the people, places, and moments to remember.
I am Blake and I am the founder of SLOtography. I'm also the lead photographer but I work with an incredible crew, including James Lester (Photographer), Dustin Wise & Zach Ayers (Videographers). We are here to capture the amazing moments (all of 'em) that sum up to your wedding story: the love, the family, the song & dance.

My girlfriends and I were taking a mommy break in the Pismo area and wanted to capture some memories. We found James through SLOtography and loved all the photos in his gallery.
We reached out to James just 2 weeks prior to our trip and luckily he had a slot for us. We were only staying there for the weekend and would have to do the photoshoot on Sunday morning since we all had to leave. James had a wedding shoot the night before and admittedly told us he was not particularly a morning person (I totally understand, neither am I), but was willing to accommodate us!

My wife and I found Blake and Dustin of SLOtography a little over two years ago after we decided to get married in SLO. Working with both of them was an absolute pleasure. Blake was incredibly friendly and responsive. He was extremely friendly and outgoing when we did our engagement photos with him which made it feel less awkward and relaxing. Sadly do you Covid we had to postpone and rebook our wedding twice. Thankfully Blake and Dustin were as flexible as they could be and we ended up on a date that worked for all of our vendors. We hired James through SLOtography for our wedding day photos and could not have been more thrilled with how everything turned out! James was wonderful on the day, both in capturing all the moments and the overall feel, and in helping wrangle us to always be exactly where we needed to be to capture everything we planned to capture (including the amazing sunset photos!).

We were so lucky to have Blake do our engagement/pre-wedding photoshoot. First of all, he was always prompt and reliable with all our emails to him, often responding within an hour or two. Coming from out of town, I had a ton of questions to ask him, but he patiently answered every one of them.

Amazing Job! Blake was amazing and flexible. He is so creative and helped make our day even better by helping us capture the special moments. We hired Blake to take photos at our wedding in Harmony Town and he was incredible, from the beginning to the end! Working out the logistics was a breeze, and we were able to talk about what kind of shots we wanted. Not only is Blake funny, he is REALLY sweet and all of the guests and wedding party felt completely comfortable around him which was really important to us. Blake and Dustin (video) are the top of the game here in the central coast for wedding photo and video as well as family portraits and engagements. I know Blake and Dustin well and have seen them both in action and I highly recommend them to you. Getting married is a big deal and it's important to invest in professionals that you can trust. Blake is THE BEST!! Contacted him super last minute after getting engaged (hugeeee surprise) and flying to SLO the next morning at 9am (from Kansas City, Missouri) and he was like, 'cool, meet ya at the beach- grab a cocktail and LET'S DO THIS!' We felt so comfortable around him- he made us laugh and helped us enjoy every second! Turn around time on the pics was crazy fast and we were BEYOND thrilled with them! Highly recommend this rad guy!

This review is LONG over due. My husband and I hired Blake/Slotography as our wedding photographer. We live in LA and arranged our wedding at the SLO Buddhist Church. So a lot of our contact with Blake had to be done via phone and email. Sometimes it can be hard to explain and be on the same page with another person, things often get lost in translation. Blake is a Photography God. He completely nailed the magic of our wedding day. He got drenched and didn't even flinch trying to snap the ceremony and family shots in the pouring rain. It was all worth it because the rainy shots came out fantastic!
He was never once intrusive or in the way, yet somehow managed to capture all of the perfect moments at the perfect angles. The reception pics turned out equally great.
