Services
McCabe Bros., Inc. provides competitively priced caskets, vaults and funeral service options in various price ranges. There may also be cemetery fees, honorariums, death notices or other charges beyond the control of the funeral home. The full extent of our efforts in your behalf is determined by your needs and your wishes.
We are located near the corner of Walnut Street and Shady Avenue in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. We are located on the corner of Penn Avenue and South Atlantic Avenue in the Bloomfield/Friendship neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The funeral home is next door to the Children's Home and Lemieux Family Center and across the street from St. Maria Goretti Church - Penn Campus (the former St. Lawrence O'Toole Church).
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or not. You have the option of having the remains interred (earth burial), or it may be entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).

My brother and I had an appointment with Ed McCabe on July 27th to make arrangements for our mother's viewing. We can't praise him enough for all of the help he gave us, and, he was very patient with us when we asked him questions. Everything was done perfectly, just like our mom wanted. Thank you to Ed and staff!
