My husband and I just moved to Del Mar and have eaten at West End several times. We have always had outstanding service and excellent food. The wait staff are awesome, especially Sonny. Everything we have ordered has been delicious and well prepared. The weekend brunch is equally as delicious. They are dog friendly on the patio, too! The place just has a great feel too. You won't be disappointed to try West End Bar and Kitchen.

I was not feeling the Christmas spirit so my hubby took us out to look at Christmas lights and as we passed this restaurant we made a mental note that we might pop in for a drink and some dessert. After perusing the lights in Del Mar we decided to come in for a night cap. The menu looked so good we decided to have 2nd dinner.
For starters we had pan fried duck wontons and the artichokes. Somehow the artichokes were forgotten, so we didn't get them til we were finishing our main course. We weren't charged for them which was kind, but more importantly they were amazing.

Cute restaurant overlooking Torrey Pines. You can make reservations easily on OpenTable. Food was tasty. Service was ok. They were weird about splitting checks (even though they weren't busy when we were there) and a little slow. Still, I would come back. I went for brunch but look forward to returning for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

Enjoyed our first visit for dinner. Friendly service, an excellent and varied menu, good wine selection and very fair prices. Entrees and appetizers were quite good, including the cIoppinno, duck confit, flatbreads, and soup. Only issue is parking, which is limited to their small lot or along the side street that becomes very congested when the restaurant is busy.

Attended many a fine food restaurants and the West End Bar and Kitchen is overpriced for the portion size and the taste Quality of the foods we experienced. The portions are waay too small as if small portions add value? My family had main entree's and myself decided on a simple burger. The taste of the burger was of the worst at any restaurant in my experience. In and Out burger provides 3x min the taste relative this venue.

I have had brunch here twice in the past several weeks and both times it was solid 5 stars.
First time I came with my mom..
She ordered a seafood omelet that she really enjoyed. I had the best Lox Benedict ever!
I kept fantasizing about it and dragged my husband and my dog here over the Memorial Day weekend.
My husband liked his breakfast burrito very much.
I enjoyed Lox Benedict all over again.
Good bottomless mimosas, amazing hash browns.
Friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere.
I'm really looking forward to coming here for dinner. They have a very appealing menu.

All I really wanted was a cocktail, when I saw the intense menu that speaks for itself, I persuaded myself into trying the lamb dish.
Best lamb I have ever had in my brief lifetime on this planet.
Very tender, just perfect.
Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked savagely appealing
to hungry people like me and my crew.
Worth another round or three, for sure.
After that, we walked over to visit another spot close by (I won't say the name), that sells liquor in this town, old family friends and fine people.
West End is my new "end-all" in Del Mar.
Wonder if the fair will

The Clam Chowder was delicious! Calamari was tasty. The free birthday dessert was good as well, and the wait person was lovely. That's where it ends. Four of us were celebrating and enjoyed the patio seating. Unfortunately, the bright glare of the sunset was not to be adjusted without proper window coverings on the West end.
Pork dish was dry. Lump crab salad was very generous, but most of the topping was white goat cheese, not the promised lump crab. Crab was good, but in crumbs, not pieces.
When we kindly asked for the loud music to be turned down, we were told that the owner preferred

There are SO many phenomenal delights served at the West End, including their Rosemary Bread, Artichoke Appetizer and VERY generous variety of salads!!
My whiskey sour was a little light on whiskey - but other than that minor disappointment the evening was spectacularly notable.
The pork chop must have been brined as it was so moist and tender. We shared deserts between us and each one was delicious.
Socrates, our server, was attentive, charismatic and professional and made the evening memorable.
Can't wait to return to West End soon!!!

A couple friends and I had our "Galentines" lunch here and it was such a great experience we're bound to be back soon! The patio provided a great atmosphere with a beautiful view and our server, Karen, was fantastic. We tried the muscles with chorizo - very tasty. I highly recommend the crab salad as well - fresh, flavorful and filling! We loved all of the fun drink options but you can't go wrong with $12 bottomless mimosas. I would have prefered them poured and mixed individually instead of from a pitcher but if that's my biggest complaint... it means this place is worth

We had such an amazing dinner here. The view is beautiful, the patio is roomy and the service was excellent.
We found so many things on the menu that we wanted to try and what we ordered was so good that we will definitely be back.
Best on the menu: The crab cake. We were so hungry I didn't get a picture but it was the perfect mix of crispy fried exterior with soft, flavorful crab inside.
We also had the chipotle tequila pasta with shrimp, the rustic tuscan salad and baked goat cheese. It was all fresh and flavorful. (Though, I had wished the goat cheese entree was plated differently

Small restaurant with a small menu. All four of our entrees were excellent. I especially liked my prime beef and short rib stew - very good and filling as well. Our Caesar Salad was excellent too. They served some excellent bread too. Desserts were also very good.
The main dining area is very small. They have a bar and a covered patio as well. The service was excellent. Fairly pricey, but worth it. Parking can be an ordeal if using their lot, but you can park on the street or in the adjacent neighborhood.
