I am a physical therapist with over 31 years of experience. I have worked in a variety of settings, but recently became more focused on working with PD. Since then I have attended training and become a PWR! Therapist, a PWR! Instructor, and a Rock Steady Boxing coach. I decided to start POP Fitness and devote all of my time to Parkinson's specific treatments.
Rock Steady Boxing was founded in 2006 by former Marion County (Indiana) prosecutor, Scott Newman, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 40. Rock Steady Boxing utilizes non contact boxing drills to improve agility, speed, strength, power, endurance, and hand eye coordination. Classes provide an environment for people to gain confidence in their abilities, and "Fight back" against PD.

I highly recommend Power Over Parkinsons Fitness. My husband, with Parkinson's Disease, has been attending Lori Dodd's Rock Steady Boxing class for about 2 months. I have seen improvements in his balance, his walking, his endurance and his social interactions. Lori is a physical therapist with a lot of knowledge about Parkinson's. She is patient and fun and everyone smiles a lot in her classes.
