Intro to BJJ is designed for people with little or no experience in mind. We will be covering the basic principles and concepts of Jiu Jitsu as well as self-defense. Although the class is not mandatory for new students, it is strongly encouraged. This class was also designed for beginners with little or no experience.
At the Caio Terra Academy, we believe that the training your child will receive with us will last a lifetime. We will help your child achieve their full potential by increasing their self-esteem and confidence while teaching them effective martial arts.

Caio Terra Academy is where myself and my two children regularly train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The incredible skill & detail of instruction in both the adults and kids classes, the cleanliness of the facility, the inclusive "One Team" environment and the commitment to working through the pandemic with members to ensure they had the support, training and open door to come back when they were ready was all we needed to know that we'd found our BJJ home.

I've been training here for six years. It's my favorite place to be. The instructors are amazing. Caio's level of technical mastery and the detail provided through instruction is exceptional. Yuri and Vitor are phenomenal instructors as well. I've been to well over one hundred classes with each of them, both gi and no gi. They care, they are smart, and they are amazing at Brazilian jii jitsu. Special shout out to Vitor as I primarily train in the morning these days. He's a gifted instructor and is very willing to hang after class to answer questions and go over details with each of his students

I have been training at CTA for almost 2 months and I am extremely pleased with the entire experience for both me and my 5 year old son so far. Everyone from my fellow students to the instructors, to even the gym owners were super friendly and welcoming to us right from the start.

This review is long overdue. I used to live in San Jose for more than a decade & I can say with the utmost confidence that this BJJ school has the absolute best instructors in the area. They cater to women, children & families mostly, but there are also some very high caliber BJJ players that train out of this academy as well. If you want 2 learn from the best, check this school out. You will not be disappointed! There are early morning classes for those early bird types & an open mat every weekend for the weekend warrior.

I have been training here off and on since 2012 I gladly drive from Pleasant Hill to San Jose you get the best training in the Bay Area! Super family environment and if you're just a regular Joe looking to learn jiu-jitsu and meet cool people it's a great place or if you're a high-level competitor and professional level athlete this is definitely the place to be!
The academy is beautiful and they have everything you need to succeed in the sport and help you succeed in life!

Hands down a very solid gym to train in grappling in. You have highly devoted and humble practioners here constantly training and improving on their BJJ and/or Judo game. Everyone is very helpful and I found it easy to get up to speed in learning BJJ by being in this studio. As someone who has trained in multiple dojos was a no-brainer to join.
If you're a competitor, then there's several people that train hours daily here so you'll easily find people to train BJJ in.
The only downer is the parking. It's a really tough place to park in and you definitely have to come in earlier

I was traveling for business and my instructor called in and asked if I could do a drop in. It is filled with a great group of people. I only had time to drop in the advance class and there were white belts there and Vitor was teaching and said he's okay with it if I were.
Everyone including Vitor was extremely welcoming and humble for the most part.
In the end, a blue belt sat down and showed me his signature choke and gave me something to take home for sure!
I'd definitely go back, everyone else was extremely cool.

Caio Terra Academy provides an amazing program for kids! I've noticed a remarkable difference in my 6 year old son's demeanor and behavior in the last 10 months. Professor Kim is such a wonderful balance for the kids. He emphasizes teaching respect along with technique. I love that although they are age appropriate, they are serious about teaching these kids technique. I can go on and on. I'm thrilled that my 7 year old daughter is now enrolling in this program. We are so fortunate to be a part of this academy!!

I had the opportunity to train at Caio terras academy while on vacation from new York where I train at Serra BJJ. They welcomed us with open arms. Nice friendly academy. Instructors were great. They teach good solid jujitsu. Caio and his brother taught the advanced class. 3 very interesting armbar setups from guard. If you're in San jose, I highly recommend stopping in. Glenn

I've been here for about a year now, and I have enjoyed every moment here. I really feel like I can call this place my home away from home. The students and teachers here are the real deal. They're dedicated, helpful, and friendly. The teachers here are very accommodating to new students. Unlike some schools I've seen where they just throw you into the lion's pit, the people here will try to help you out. If you have questions, someone will be willing to answer them.
