Living Landscape Design
We meet with you, hear your ideas and goals, and prepare your plan right on the spot! At the end of the consultation we leave you with a drawing that shows your patio and use areas, paths and other features as well as all the detailed plant information you will need to have your project installed.

We design drought-tolerant and low-maintenance gardens with patio spaces, entry walks, pathways, dry creekbeds, lawn replacement areas and themed gardens such as meditation spaces and play areas. Here are some examples of our work.
Services
We love meeting with people, hearing their ideas and dreams, and creating a plan that ties it all together on paper. We feel grateful to be able to bring the beauty of nature to our client's homes. Jody received a master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1989 and earned the title of landscape architect in 1992.
Our design consultations take place at your home and last between 3 to 5 hours for a tract-home size front or back yard. At the end of the consultation, we leave you with a drawing and plant list so you have a complete project to work with immediately.

If a yard is large enough and the client's wish-list extensive we often break it up into two appointments and design the hardscape, use areas, and planting bed shapes the first visit and then, the second visit focus on the planting design. When you have made an appointment with one of us, the first 15 - 20 minutes of the appointment we will walk around and talk with you right in your yard.
A 25' or 30' measuring tape / 100' measuring tape (optional - useful for fence line measuring). Important: Each square on the graph paper will equal 2 feet. Use the graph paper when you prepare the final drawing (see final drawing below). Note: Graph paper is not essential; if you know how to use an architect's scale you can use that to prepare the 1/8 drawing for us.
