Our journey began in 1976 when a young ambitious teenage dancer had the dream of owning her own dance studio. Eleanor Donovan Gilson, a South Buffalo native, opened the studio when she was a junior in high school attending Mount Mercy Academy. What began as a small one studio dance school, with only a couple students, grew into a large loving family

In addition to our recreational dance program, Steppin' Out is also home to The Classic Dance Co. of WNY, Inc. which is comprised of our competitive and elite teams. Devastation was established in 1997. Before turning into one of Buffalo New York's phenomenal dance company and teams they began as a drill team. Operating on God's will and donations this organization changed many lives. At risk youth from all areas of Buffalo enjoy being a part of Devastation.
