I'm a second generation State Farm Agent, with my father starting in 1960, and his two brothers starting their careers with State Farm in the late 1950s. After graduating from high school I went into the United States Marine Corps Reserves and served for six years. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance at Penn State University.

I grew up in a large family in the city of Pittsburgh. I attended Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. I taught Kindergarten for a year and worked part time at night for a State Farm Agent. I only worked a few months when an agency manager asked me if I ever thought about having my own Agency?
