Special Beginnings Early Learning Center started as Holy Spirit Extended Child Care, at Holy Spirit School in Overland Park, Kansas. The program was founded by Lynda Connolly in 1987; and was originally licensed for 12 children. In 1989, Mary Hornbeck, Lynda's daughter, took over the program which then had grown to 24 children.
