Ian McCartt, a California native and carpenter for HGTV's Color Splash, discovered his passion for carpentry while working for a contractor as a teenager. Throughout his college years Ian worked as a wild land firefighter, but in 1999 he returned to his roots by becoming a licensed general contractor.
