Canton Garden Center was organized in 1946 by four clubs: Canton Garden Club, Canton Scrosis Garden Club, Town Garden Club, and the Y.W.C.A. Evening Garden Club. Today only two of these remain active: Canton Garden Club and Town Garden Club. The first meetings were held in the second story office of the Harter Estate.
