A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions. Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.

I have never looked forward to going to the dentist, until now! Never have I walked into a place and felt more welcome, then I did here. Dr Ian saw me with the most amazing assistant I can't seem to remember her name. I came in scared, feeling ashamed, and was completely blown away by the gentle kindness. I have been with this dentist my whole life, I have never had another dentist ever do work on my teeth. They are a GREAT dentist. Jeff and his son Ian are absolutely amazing. I highly recommend ONLY getting work done from them if you go to this dentist. Do not be seen by Sue Peterson. She’s very rude and very unprofessional and likes to judge people, she’s not gentle at all either. She completely disrespected me when I did nothing to her, I asked her to stop doing something simply because it was hurting me, she rolled her eyes and went off.. mind you there’s no doors so everybody can hear

This place is simply wonderful. I can't say enough about how warm and caring and, most importantly, incredibly competent, the entire staff is. Over the years I have had appointments with Dr. Sue, Dr.Jeff and Dr. Edita and I honestly cannot say who I love the most! Not only are each of them supremely capable in their work, they are incredibly attuned to my comfort levels and so sensitive and reassuring that they put me completely at my ease. State of the art dental clinic. The machines and procedures are quite advanced. You will never feel pain on your dental procedures !! Ultra clean and professional. I had an issue with my Delta Dental insurance re the PPO plan. Pls take note that this clinic is for PREMIERE plans . If your plan is PPO make appointment with Dr. Ian Petersen. Debra the staff heard my request and adjustments were made to my billing.

Jeffrey Petersen is a very friendly and personable man who has gone far and above to help me. I admire his honesty, sense of humor, and how he always shakes your hand right away. He's saved multiple teeth of mine at very reasonable prices. Also if I have an emergency he or his staff usually have me come in right away and take care of me. Sue and the staff up front are kind, they always pick up the phone first time you call. Thank you Dr. Petersen, you are a good person and great dentist.

I have lived in the south bay for the last 15 years and yet have been making the trek up to Santa Rosa to see Jeff and Sue Petersen for all of my dental needs. They have squeezed me in early in the morning and gone above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. It is with a heavy heart that I have to find a new dentist in the south bay as it has become too difficult to find time during the week with my work commitments. I was with Petersen Dental Care (Jeffrey Petersen, Susan Petersen, and Edita Vasiliauskas).
They are all top notch professional and conservative in what they recommend as options, never proposing more than is needed; Dr. Edita made the best crown I have ever had.
The office staff is pleasant and helpful, and the dental assistants are thorough but gentle. I wish I was still in Santa Rosa area. I love going to the dentist at Petersen Dental Care!

No doubt the best. I would never consider going to another dentist ever again other than Dr. Jeff. The other dentists there have done well by me when I could not see Dr. Jeff. I have friends who have followed my advise to go to Petersen Dentistry and are regular happy clients. You will always walk out the door feeling better than when you walked in.

Petersen Dental is slammed busy seven days a week and that tells you two things: 1. They clearly have the following for being such a great facility and 2. They aren't in need of business and therefore will be conservative and honest with what they feel you need. Petersen Dental will never tell you you need something that you do not need I went to a dentist to told me I needed a deep cleaning years ago, I was shocked (as I have always had excellent oral health) so I went to Jeff Petersen for a second opinion and he told me absolutely not. A few months ago I was told that I had six cavities
