Randy Nguyen, DDS

My wife has been going here for years and loves it. She has never had any issues with Randy. I myself have been dentist hoping for a while and decided to give him a try and really enjoy my time there. Not sure why so many haters are bashing them.

ALL I CAN SAY IS DONT BRING YOUR DOG OR YOUR WORST ENEMY HERE. THIS PLACE WILL BE SHUT DOWN SOON. I HAVE FILED 5 COMPLAINTS WITH DENTICAL. THIS MAN WILL HAVE ALL YOUR TEETH PULLED FOR NO REASON. IF YOU WENT HERE PLEASE GET A 2ND OPINION. HE USED TO OULL TEETH HIMSELF NOW RANDY NGUYEN HAS BEEN BANNED FROM DOING THIS PROCECURE BUT HE WILL SEND YOU TO A SURGEON OF HIS CHOICE. GET 2ND OPINION!!

I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen since he first opened his dentistry. They have always been very nice and helpful (including the receptionist) and have very good attitudes. Everything they were going to do has always been explained before hand. I didn't have insurance one of the last times and I paid some out of pocket but they were understanding and gave me a price break. I think he is one of the best dentists in Santa Rosa.

I saw Dr Nguyen a few years ago. I should have posted this then, but I didn't realize how wide spread this is. He is straight up rude and abusive! I had some very bad work done by a previous dentist that left me with very bad teeth that needed a lot of work. I explained what happened to him and he yelled at me and told me I was lying! He said the reason my teeth broke from fillings and my enamel is cracked is because I don't brush or floss my teeth! I carry flossers with me everywhere I go. The cleaning he did on me was extremely painful. He wasn't gentle at all. I ended up leaving

Bedside manner is atrocious. Not only insulted me but made fun of me for being sensitive and having anxiety about the dentist. Then insulted my line of work. He told me I needed a bunch of procedures which I did not, and that these procedures weren't covered by my insurance which at the time was denti-cal. I then called denti-Cal and they said he was full it. This guy is a quack. Do not go. I'm surprised he's even able to run a practice. I'm glad I went somewhere else to get a second opinion. Worst experience of my life.

Dr. Nguyen is an excellent dentist I have been a patient of his for years. Many of my friends see him too.He does excellent bridge work I have received many compliments on my smile since Dr Nguyen fixed it. In fact, when I had to seen by a specialist, he said said it was great work too.I also really like how exceptionally clean and comfortable.the office is and the staff is very friendly and inviting.I never have to wait. I highly recommend him.

I went to Dr. Nguyen for an emergency appointment because the dentist I normally use is an hour away.

He had done some fillings for me in the past and told me that I needed silver fillings because my cavities were too bad for porcelain (which I later found out was ridiculous and didn't realize I was getting four of them). He also did a "cleaning" before the fillings which was no more than 5 minutes. I stopped using him after that.

I didn't want him to do anymore work on me, but I was experiencing extreme tooth and jaw pain and needed an X-ray to make sure I didn't have

This was a horrific experience. First this dentist tried to break the ice by joking about me smoking weed because I'm from Nevada, even though I never mentioned anything about that. Seems like an inappropriate "joke" to make out of the blue.

Then the real horror started. Before he started the cleaning, I specifically told him that I have really sensitive teeth. Apparently this did not matter, because he was extremely aggressive with the cleaning tools. I kept getting those zingers that you feel when you get tooth pain right at the root. Dr Nguyen doesn't do a thorough job. He did two cleanings himself and it took him a grand total of 15 minutes. I had problems with my dentures and he told me to go buy some denture realignment product. I have a tooth that is in serious need of a filling and he won't do it. That was the case for my upper teeth and he talked me into getting them all pulled. I wish I never went to him.

This was my first visit for a cleaning.

Pros - Short wait time. Cons - The dentist didn't do a gum health check. He didn't offer any solutions for an embarrassing slightly chipped front tooth, other than live with it. While perhaps not a bad dentist, I found him to be overly aggressive and dismissive of my concerns.

When I asked what the initials in his name stood for, he told me, "None of your damn business." Repeatedly. His front desk staff went along with the joke, which isn't really the vibe I'm going for at the dentists' office.

Terrible first experience!!! I went to Dr. Nguyen with terrible tooth pain and medi-cal. He gave me no options for fixing my cavity and just told me it must be removed. After removal I started tearing up cause of pain then he goes "no need to get upset there are ways to fix like spacers and braces just ask mommy and daddy if they will help you out." Mind you I'm here on medi-cal not my parents insurance. I could not believe he had the audacity to assume something about my personal life. Worst service I've ever experienced. Do not go to this dentist office!!!!

I took my mom here, she hasn't been to the dentist in over 24 years and he said she had perfect teeth. She has missing teeth receding gums that show the roots of the tooth. Looks a lot like gum disease. He said all she needed was a deep cleaning. She wanted to no more about dentures but he said she had perfect teeth and didn't need them and he rushed us out. I also knew someone who went to him for a cleaning and ended up walking out with a chipped tooth. And the dr was rude.

I stopped going to this dental office about 18 months ago because my favorite dentists keep leaving. Also because the location is in Santa Rosa and I live in Petaluma.

First Dr Vu up and left for reasons I am not privy to, then, about a year later, Dr Chen bolted. When two excellent dentists leave a dental clinic inside of 3 years, I can't help but wonder what's wrong. Could it be that the work environment there leaves something to be desired?

I have been in excruciation pain, after being in the emergency department and given a pain block in my jaw, an injection of pain meds and pain pills that hardly touched it I had to wait until Monday because they take 3 day weekends and are not open on Fridays, went to the office on an emergency, I could hardly open my mouth so when he stuck his finger in and started to push around my pain was so severe that I yelped and flinched. I was referred to this office because they are on the state provided insurance; medi-cal list.... The first visit went ok- I was seen on time and everything
Only the dentist told me I had multiple cavities performed some drills and fills and said I needed another appointment for the top- I scheduled the next appointment a month in advance
They neglected to confirm the appointment before the date and I missed it, I ended up having to go to another office that took medi-cal
The new office told me that I had no cavities and didn't need any work done except to fix the faulty work from this

I've been seeing Randy for years! Love the way he treats me. He is always cracking jokes! Great service by staff. They know me by name. I will forever go to Randy.

I went to Dr Randy Nguyen about two years ago when I had CMSP (Medi-cal) Him and his staff were always very friendly and helpful. I never waited long to be seen. While in his care I had a teeth cleaning, two root canals and multiple fillings. All were done with ease and no pain (thankfully).

I would recommend anyone who is able to get into his office to do so! Be aware though he does not accept appointments from anyone who has cancelled or not shown to their appointments before.

Unfortunately there are no negative stars available. This dentist does not even deserve a zero. I took my young adult daughter to him although she has hated seeing him for years. I thought her prior negative views on him were just those of a teenager who hates going to the dentist. I feel horrible for ignoring her opinions because today he proved what a horribly unsympathetic person he is and hugely violated HIPAA privacy practices that dentists have to follow just like any other doctor of medicine.

My tooth pain persisted so I saw another dentist. She found two cavities right away. She also said I needed a cleaning badly. perhaps it was because I had only med-a-cal. I don't know. All I know is I walked out of his office needing treatment.
