A Divorce begins when one party files a Petition for Divorce. Before the petition can be filed, Texas law requires that one party be a resident of the State of Texas for at least 6 months and be in the county where the petition is filed for 90 days. Finally, it should be mentioned that Texas has a "cooling-off" period.
While going through a divorce or break-up can be one of the biggest changes in life, it is unlikely it will be the only change you ever experience. After the court order is entered into the record, changes in life still occur. What if you lose your job? What happens if your company transfers you to another state?
Assault is an act or threat of violence committed against another person. The range of punishment for assault is very wide from a Class C Misdemeanor for Threatening Bodily Injury to a 1st Degree Felony for Aggravated Assault. As a violent crime, the State is likely to prosecute such offenses to the fullest extent of the law.
Domestic violence is assault where the alleged victim is either a member of the same family or in a dating relationship with the accused. While domestic violence falls under the bigger heading of Assault, there are so many more ramifications that the offense deserves a much closer look. Allegations of domestic violence can also be grounds for the removal of children by the Department of Child Protective Services.
While obtaining sound legal advice as soon as possible is important in any criminal case, it is critical if you have been charged with a drug crime such as possession, possession with intent to distribute, or manufacturing with intent to deliver. Law enforcement may use many different tactics to make their case including bullying, lying and deception.

I hired Mr.dodson to represent my brother who already had a felony assault under his belt and now had a MTR and an old assault misdemeanor case. At first he was sceptical about taking my brothers case because of issues with his past lawyer but he still decided to take a chance on him. He even worked with us on the 1000 dollar payment and threw in his old misdemeanor case for free. My brother could of been sent away for years but instead Mr. Dodson got him out in 2 1/2 months we actually get to pick him up today and it's an awesome feeling to know I'm going to get to see my brother today. Mr. Dodson did a very poor job!!!! I hired him to represent me for a MTR he did absolutely nothing beside file a motion to represent. I never even met him always making excuses to meet up with me but was quick to take my 1,000.00 payment in cash which he "prefers"!!! Kicking myself in the butt for this. I did end up hiring another attorney a very good one which is the reason I am sitting here today able to write this poor review for a very "sorry" attorney!!!
