We are Houston's premier dojo for Traditional "Nihon" Ju-Jitsu. The art of Ju-Jitsu, the Gentle Art, is a self defense martial art system which enables the practitioner to defend oneself either standing or on the ground. We incorporate various strikes to specific parts of the body, along with joint locks, chokes, throwing and immobilization techniques.
Jujitsu also teaches a wide range of weapon techniques. We teach more than just kicking, punching, joint locks, and throwing. We teach life skills through respect in the body, strength in the mind, and spirit in the heart. That's what makes us today's Bushido warriors. Jujitsu developed to combat the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon, or only a short weapon.

Services
TnT Jujitsu specializes in traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu, headed by Grand Master Torey Overstreet. Along with GM Overstreet, we have dedicated Black Belts here to teach and set up community events. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. We strive in helping out the community, being either locally or city wide.
The origin of Ju-Jitsu is not clear, however the first publicly recognized Ju-Jitsu Ryu was formed by Hisamori Takenouchi in 1532 and consisted of techniques using a sword, jo-stick and dagger, as well as unarmed techniques. The Takenouchi-Ryu may be regarded as the primal branch for the teaching of arts similar to that of Ju-Jitsu.
During class when Sensei is demonstrating a technique, pay attention, stay silent, and keep your back close to the wall. Do not arrive too late to class. Not only will you miss out on learning, but there's no guarantee that your attendance will be tracked. If you are late, stand at the entrance of the mat and wait for permission to enter the mat.
In this class, the teens will get the opportunity to discover what Jujitsu can do for them in a society that is full of negative temptations. The students will learn focus, discipline, and persistence in order to achieve their goals not only in martial arts, but in their everyday lives. They will also focus on self defense aspects.

Dropped in last night completely unsure of what I was getting myself in to-- but teachers and students (who are also teachers) guided me in and helped me feel welcome at every point. When I arrived, the kiddo class was just leaving and the adult class attendees were stretching. It was so great to see so many parents watching their kids and to see such a diverse group of people enjoying this space. The facility was clean, the class was structured, and everyone was helpful and kind. Couldn't think of a better environment in which to learn and try something new! Thanks TNT!

I've been training here in the adult class since 2009 and I still love it. The classes are challenging with an emphasis on safety and respect. Everything is taught with the aim of practical, feasible self defense from traditional, Japanese jujitsu. The community is great and the teachers have a fantastic background. The school itself is small, but still has plenty of space for training. Classes are available for children as young as 4, youths, teens, and adults. And private lessons are available on request with most of the instructors to fit your schedule if you want to focus on a particular
