Been at this clean friendly environment and professional staff salon' on three different occasions now. And the owner Kay is a wonderful down to earth person. She knows her haircraft and is very good at a wide range of hair maintenance and the latest craved hair technics, to include weaves, extensions, perms, dyes, cuts, special treatment for your personal haircair, I would recommend this shop for all strains and types of hair.

I wouldn't normally consider a high-end salon like Madison Avenue for a simple men's haircut, but I figured I'd give it a go.
Requested a simple haircut. "Buzz it with 1 or 1.5" and trim elsewhere. Not only did i get a fast and nice trim, I got the pampered treatment. Clean cut, coupled with sculpted brows and cleaned up the other errand hair follicles (there isn't much in the places desired). Such a great experience! I had never gotten a weave so I was a little nervous and didn't know anything about the process. I came in for a consultation and Kay explained everything and scheduled me for a few days later. The process was easy and she colored my hair on the spot when the colors didn't quite match. I will definitely be back. The level of professionalism, coupled with the feeling of comfort that Kay exudes made the experience great. Sometimes hair stylists can be rude or aloof, but Kay was amazing and really made me comfortable. My hair looks so good; I get tons of compliments

Kay has saved my butt again! After seeing Kay every few months for weave for the past almost two years - I've had a rough summer with travel and lots of time in the water (tough on a weave) - and she came to my rescue! She's always going out of her way to fit me in between my very hectic schedule flying in and out of town, putting the perfect shape on a weave that I can literally put through ANYTHING, and going waaaay out of her way to support me by finding me a last minute product I needed for travel while I was only in town for a day! Worst customer service, drinks alcohol while doing hair preferably wine, be careful she sneaks next door to the restaurant next door to get it if she doesn't already have. I called Kate Mathews in hopes of having a professional do my hair. She sewed in a weave for me, braided my hair so tight, I had lumps and my hair fell out. BEWARE!!! KATE MATHEWS IS JUST MONEY HUNGRY SHE WILL PLAY YOU OUT LARGE SUMS OF MONEY $340 to be exact for my bill AND DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE TO WHAT SHE IS DOING!! Kay has done my hair for years. I call her my scientist. Always so thoughtful and knowledgeable. She has turned my black hair into platinum blonde before and guess what? Nooooo damage.
She's an educated women and her passion for hair is beyond her years. She does Photoshoots for big name magazines. Travels for fashion week. Amazing woman and her experience in hair? Priceless!

I received hair extension, hair color, and straightening/perming services from Madison Avenue Salon. I was impressed not only with how knowledgeable the stylist is, but also with the attention to detail my hair was given. It struck me that the focus at Madison Avenue Salon is on the health of your hair and the quality of the services rendered instead of just getting the job finished as quickly as possible for a fee. Please read this updated review. I have been going to Madison Ave Salon for almost a year now - I think Kay is wonderful and her work is super high quality. I am an A. American client, but I while getting my hair done, I also have seen her work on Caucasian clients and doing what seems to be pretty nice work.

I received a coupon through Tippr to get a 90 minute massage from the Madison Salon and Day Spa several months ago. Finally I was able to redeem the coupon for the much needed massage. Upon entering the salon, I was surprised at how small the space was, especially the back massage room. I was greeted by Walter, the masseuse, who was very friendly. I filled out some basic paperwork and he showed me the back room.
The Massage room is not even quite a room, but a small enclosure with a sliding door, a bed, a stereo and a hook for your clothing. It is simple and not quiet or very private, but it worked

I've been to this salon twice now to get the Brazilian blowout. I had great experiences both times, with two of the hair stylists. Both ladies knew just what to do, and knew a lot about the Brazilian blowout process and maintenance. My last blowout lasted about 8-9 weeks, looked great and felt smooth - just what a Brazilian blowout should do. Everyone I encountered at the salon was friendly, courteous and welcoming too.
