Our veterinarians offer a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, and dental expertise to help your pet stay healthy and to help what ails him/her. Our facility is fully equipped with examination rooms, treatment area, surgical suite, in-house testing, comprehensive dental suite with dental x-rays, and fully stocked pharmacy, including medications and prescription diets.
Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Dr. Debra Campbell was raised in Connecticut, received her undergraduate degree from Whittier College, in California, and graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, MA. Dr. Campbell opened Pet Haven Animal Hospital (formerly Boston Pet Haven) in 2010; she previously owned and worked at Rotherwood Animal Hospital in Newton, MA, which she sold to VCA Animal Hospitals in 2009.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. For your convenience, drop-off' appointments are available.
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off colour or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Use the age chart below to find your pets age in "people" years and the screening testing recommended for each stage of his or her life.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.

Here at Pet Haven Animal Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.

If there is a problem, it is not possible to make an appointment. They don't help.

I've been going here for 10 years and I wouldnt go anywhere else. Even if I moved I'd still drive back for Dr.Campbell she goes above and beyond and truly cares about what's happening with your animals.

Don’t come here, they think they’re knowledgeable about dogs but are far from it. Extremely rude and don’t know how to handle big dogs. Told my friend off because my dog was excited. Stay away from this place.

I am a first-time cat owner who recently had to select a vet for the first time. The staff at Pet Haven were lovely and very helpful in finding an appointment time that worked with my schedule. When I arrived, the office was small, but all staff were masked appropriately and seemed to be taking distancing and other COVID precautions seriously. I also got to meet the office's resident orange tabby, who was quite friendly and definitely gave my cat something to focus on instead of her upcoming shots!
We went in for a first exam and some vaccinations; the total cost came to about $200. Dr. McCarthy

Really great people at Pet Haven. Stephanie is wonderful with all the fur babies that walk through the door. If I ever need anything, or have any questions, they always pick up the phone and are happy to answer any questions - which is really important for first time pet owners like us. Highly recommend!

Brought our 11 week old puppy in for his first vet visit and everyone was very friendly, helpful, and professional. The whole visit with vaccines and some medicine was a little over $200. Will be returning for all our future dog care needs.

We had a wonderful experience at Pet Haven. My five year old cat had an enormous growth between her ears. I'm from chicago and had seen vets in both boston and chicago. I was quoted no less than 4000 dollars-- not even including a biopsy. Just removal.
We were devastated at the prospect of not being able to take the Best Care of PJ. ENTER, Pet Haven. Doc practically scoffed at mentions of the 1000s of dollars quoted by previous vets. She and her staff took wonderful care of my kitty-- which we could actually afford.
PJ was instantly happier after the procedure. Her quality lof life has certainly
