Heal Veterinary Clinic
We are not taking new clients now since we only have enough schedule availability for the clients and pets who we have already made a comitment to serve. Its a tough time to do this, and we understand there are too few veterinarians for the huge surge of new pets in our area. Check back here regularly for updates to our availability.

Please note that masks are required inside the building for clients and staff alike, regardless of vaccination status. In order to minimize the number if people in the clinic, all appointments will start over the phone. Only one pet parent is allowed in the building at a time. Heal Vet is a full service small animal hospital located in the Mount Auburn neighborhood, at the intersection of Cambridge, Belmont and Watertown MA.
Services
Dr. Amanda Leef's journey to practice ownership started when she caught a snake as a small child. She graduated in 2003 from Michigan State University's DVM program and since then has worked in rural mixed animal practices, high-volume spay-neuter programs, animal shelters, and urban small-animal practices.
Looking for home delivery? Start with our new online store for competitive pricing and on-demand, seamless prescription approval from our vets. 150 Belmont Street Watertown, MA 02472 We are in the Mount Auburn neighborhood at the intersection of Cambridge, Belmont and Watertown. There is ample parking on-street in front of the clinic and in our parking lot behind the building. The handicap-accessible parking spot and entrance are in the parking lot behind the building.
I started drawing the faces around me as a child, and started painting with oils at age 12 - though I would later stop painting for over 20 years. Then, as a local dog walker snapping quick shots of those who surround me during the day, I found that the images that emerged were begging to be put on canvas.

Heal is the BEST! They return calls very quickly, follow up with emails of all the extremely informative technical info from appointments and phone discussions, and call back to check in on your baby after procedures or treatments.
They’re such kind and caring people!

Our favorite vet in Boston! They are incredibly kind, understanding and professional. They were even able to squeeze us in when my dog got bit at the park and needed a rabies booster. We come here for all our dog’s care and will continue to do so!

Great experience(s) so far! My dog has been more relaxed here than any other veterinary office. There’s no slippery exam tables, instead every room has a cozy bed or couch for the animals to relax on. The vets don’t wear scrubs or lab coats that may intimidate your pet, they dress in normal clothing. They also take lots of time to make sure your pet is at ease before physically examining them. In my experience they’ve always let me know when something is “optional” (vaccines, lab work, etc.) which saves you money! By the end of the visit my anxious dog was laying down and very happy.

The vets and vet techs took such good care of my Spooky! She was more behaved for them than she is for me! Would definitely take her here again if she needs a doctor right away!

I love this vet and would recommend them to anybody! I started bringing my dog to Heal before the pandemic and the environment is like nothing I've ever experienced. They do everything in their power to make her feel comfortable and safe, like barn doors that close on the bottom but open on the top so she doesn't feel trapped, and doing the appointment at the dog's level with a bunch of cozy spaces.
Dr. Kristie is super nice, and thorough. She and the front desk always answer all of my questions. They adapted with COVID swiftly, and my dog still feels fine going!
I've never felt anything besides

Love the Doctors and technicians. Everyone of them takes the time to thoroughly talk to you about what they see and what the treatment course is. Love the follow-up emails to check-in as well.

A fantastic vet clinic staffed with caring, knowledgeable and kind people. Their prices are very reasonable. The care is top shelf. It's clear, everyone from the front desk to the techs to the doctors themselves are 100% invested in listening to the customers and providing appropriate treatment or advice for our furry family members. They love animals and it shows. Highly recommend.

I love Heal! They always answer all my questions whether I’m calling to ask about something or it’s during an appointment. They care a lot about making sure the animals are comfortable and happy during the appointments. They even sent me pictures after!
