Francis Gabrielle White was born in Tallahassee (go Seminoles!) and attended Jefferson High School there. She learned her craft at TCC/Euro Hair. She moved to Jacksonville and started working at Rio Hair Studio in 2006. She is always working to keep up with latest fashion styles and trends and she has a special knack for bringing out her clients' natural beauty.

As a company we understand that things come up and schedules change! To help our guests remember their appointment we have many reminders in place ie, texts, emails and phone calls. When a guest does not show up this creates a challenge to fill the spot and a loss of income. NO SHOWS will be asked to put down a deposit in order to book another time.

I made an appointment with Sara to get highlights and I paid $170 and my roots were not done and looked extremely unblended. She said she was gonna fix it but then blew me off. Terrible and I felt tricked and now I gotta go pay full price somewhere else just to get the hair I want. If you are getting highlights I'd recommend another salon or at least not Sara.

Made an appointment the day prior with Rio. Spoke to the receptionist and told her I was hoping to schedule for a cut and color. She was able to get me in at 9:30am. When I arrived and was having the consult with the stylist, I was told she only had time to color my roots. And dark only since she didn’t have time to lift color 😐 No trim. When I asked what was going on, I was told the receptionist noted she had called (and spoke with!) me and told me to come with wet hair and that they only had 30 minutes. That was a lie, I never got a call. And then they wanted to chalk it up to a “miscommunication”

I had a nice experience here, my Stylist very kind and tried to cut my hair exactly as I wanted it. I did have an allergic reaction to the products being used but that is not the salons fault by any means. The location is easy to find, clean and quiet. I was able to get a next day appointment which was nice.

Outstanding experience with Mackenzie as my hairdresser! Mackenzie was patient and understanding of what I wanted, was very pleasant and professional, and most importantly - took her time (even staying past closing time) to perfect my hair! This girl truly has a passion for her job and it shows! So happy with my hair! 6/5 stars in my book!

I have tried to give this salon and multiple stylists a chance and each time was the same result. Messed up orange, spotty hair. The lighting is TERRIBLE and toner can fool you! This last time I went to have my hair lightened after being brown for a while, something I have always done for 25+ and never had an issue. I was a level 5 wanting to go blond again which was usually achieved by full head highlights. I originally wanted to be booked with their blond specialist but she was booked out (I had a wedding I was going to that I wanted my hair blond for in 3 weeks) but I was told they had another

I recently moved to Jax and this was my first time with new stylist after 15 years. I searched the internet and Rio popped right up. Fran did my hair on Saturday and it is perfect! Probably one of the best salons I've been too. I went to try the new Redken Acidic Bonding system. Chantz took a few minutes to review my hair woes and explained the science behind the system before getting started. This is a happy salon ... everyone having conversations and you could tell that most had repeat clients. The bonding system worked great on my hair , so I'll definitely be back, too.

I've been going to Rio hair salon for a while. I saw Sami skinner and I have to say she has to have about the worst attitude of any hairdresser I've ever had. I have no problem paying good money for a master stylist but when a stylist is doing 3 people at once and they leave your toner on too long and you're hair comes out grey/purple don't tell me it's so difficult to do and blame me as a client for her mistake. My hair should have been blonde and shades root. I paid $170 for my hair color to be the same as I went in. Sami can definitely cut and style hair but her arrogance

I’ve been a client since 2007. I haven’t been anywhere else to get my hair done. Misty is amazing and has always been wonderful since day one. Everyone there are all wonderful And pleasant. Carolina has been doing my hair and she’s AMAZING! such a sweet person and knows her stuff! She cares for her clients needs and makes your experience with her personal, yet, professional. I can’t say in one word how wonderful she is and how each time she does my hair is excellent! I never leaves reviews but i absolutely have to!! i have been going to RIO for the last 2 years. I had a terrible hair experience at a different salon that left my blonde hair fried. Thank God, i came across Laura Schoolhouse at Rio. She brought my hair back to life, healthy, thick and glamorous. What i love about Laura is she takes her time, explains her process and ALWAYS gets you the results you need but in a healthy, professional way. If you’re looking to get any hair color please go to Laura!! SHES THE BEST. She does my highlights, i love to change it up and do balayage with baby lights

I had an outstanding experience at Rio Hair. It is the best salon I have ever been to before in Jacksonville! I had amazing balayage done on my hair. I was very happy and cannot wait to go back! It is such a relaxing and welcoming environment! I always leave loving my hair! Highly Recommend!

I have never been to a salon where I felt zero hospitality and such rude, unprofessional behavior from the front desk staff. I'm new to the area and this studio has a name for itself but I'm not seeing how. Very disappointed with my first appointment but I believe every stylist needs time to adjust to how my hair processes etc. I decided to book my second appointment online 5 days before my appointment. Online it only let me book for just a cut but I needed a partial high light so I mentioned it in the notes. Instead of calling me the next day and informing me I could not book that service

First 100 dollar deposit then got an estimate for 245-260. Guess was counting on the remainder of 150 to be due.
Now the terrible part . Got there at 9 and 6 hours later done. The girl miscalulated amount of coloring and kept mixing more jacking my bill up higher.
I felt the rep was unprofessional and in over her head and finally rushed me out cause she had a 3:15 appointment.
Then they give me a bill of 360 dollars. Remember I already paid 100 deposit. Nearly 500 haircut and color holy crap!! Looks like novice did it.

Whenever I go into Jacksonville, I always make a point to stop and get my hair cut and styled at Rio Hair Studio. I did not have an appointment this trip, and I was assigned to Dani to help me out. They explained the online appointment system so I will be good the next visit. Dani did a great job listening to how I usually keep my hair styled and she did an amazing job getting my hair just right. Dani and all the people who work at the salon are very personable. I sipped some wine while getting my hair styled... nothing better!

I am new to Jacksonville . I tried another salon before finding this one. The other salon was horrible and left leopard spots in my hair while coloring. I came here and had excellent service, has been beautiful every time! They were able to fix the horrible job the previous salon did. They also serve wine or coffee while you are getting your hair done. The area is beautiful and everyone is friendly! I highly recommend this place esp. if you want a good cut or color.

This is my second time here and I don't remember who cut my hair the last time, but this time I won't forget! Dani was amazing. I wish I would've done a before and after. I got quite a bit cut off and it feels so light. I have naturally wavy hair but she straightened it out to add layers and it's been so long that I've actually had it straightened that I forgot how much I like it. She was super sweet and complimented my natural color, gentle, and has amazing talent. I usually leave a salon feeling "okay" but I was excited afterwards. I (almost) wanted to go home

Krystal Burr is my hero! She does amazing work with color! I'm always afraid when going to a new stylist because you never know what to expect but as soon as she said hello, I almost instantly felt comforted. She has such a bubbly personality and is great to talk to. I get a certain dark reddish-violet color in my hair and most people can't understand me when I explain it to them. When I called to book an appointment for the first time for a hair cut, I was assigned to Shelby! She gave me a real good hair cut and I also ended up getting a relaxer treatment for her! Somehow it didn't come out like I anticipated and shelby did it for me again as she used a less concentrated product earlier, but knowing how my hair would react! And she did it absolutely for free, in spite of the treatment taking longer time than the first time! I like Shelby and I will be going back again for my hair cut! I'm absolutely in love with my relaxer

I had balayage, cut and style by Emily and I couldn't be happier! The color turned out fantastic, the cut was lovely and she was fun to talk to. I told her exactly what I was looking for (keep length, de-bulk and lighten) and went and above and beyond my expectation. Her prices were very reasonable as well. I highly recommend giving her a try!
