Services
We began as Bowling-Walker Funeral Home on Dixie Street in London in 1965. Ed Bowling then purchased full ownership in 1971, relocating the funeral home to our current location on Main Street in 1974. A few renovations were then made in order to better accommodate the families we serve. Ed, his wife Mary, and their son, Doug, have worked hard to expand and improve the funeral home to ensure the best quality service possible.
Staff members of Bowling Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. Your requests and needs are of utmost importance to us. We strive to serve every family as if they were our own during a difficult time in their lives.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
For 30 years Doug Bowling Monuments has helped families in honoring their loved ones. Our goal is to ensure the greatest satisfaction in dedicating a remembrance to someone that we love. Doug Bowling Monuments has a wide array of monuments and memorials to choose from. At Doug Bowling Monuments we understand that every one has different needs and wants in designing a memorial.
They served our country and often made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom and way of life. We understand the special needs of veterans' families. Whether it is a simple family funeral or a full military service, we would like the opportunity to serve you and our country by honoring your loved one.

I can't say it was the worst experience it just felt rushed like my father's life or even more so death meant nothing..I have had a couple good experiences with them pertaining to other family members, but it seemed when I needed compassion the most the lady that helped us was rushed, frustrated, and seemed to lack tact. Maybe she wasn't used to the planning process or maybe she didn't care either way it was a semi horrible experience.. It seems that if they think you are "poor" or if you don't have an uppity demeanor they have no reason to help you! I felt pity and shame leaving MY FATHER with

I simply cannot find the right words to say about Bowling Funeral Home. My mother passed away a week ago. I could not have asked for anything more. They were compassionate, caring, and understanding.... needless to say they were everything I expected and so much more. I never imagined I’d have to plan my mothers funeral at this age. I was a… absolute wreck, But Barkley, Tyson, Doug and Mary made everything as easy for me as they could. I cannot thank you enough for such great service and taking great care of not only my mother but all my family.

They are very rude. There's no Communication among them. After dropping off pics for the video, I had to tell 3 different people that it was there. In order to get video played. The person who does the makeup, done a horrible job. Bookkeeping is almost non existent, after more payments was made the balance didn't decrease. I would've gave them a zero but 1 is low as I can go.

A close friend of mine, Danielle Michelle Baker, had final wishes to donate her body to medical Science, but despite having redundant contracts and declarations of intent signed by her own hand, Bowling Funeral Home facilitated family interference and cremated her immediately. My friend's last wishes can never be carried out because of Bowling's decision to destroy what she wished to donate to the recipient.

This place is horrible, when they made the tribute video, some of the photos were upside down, also after the funeral, we went to the Cemetery, family of my best friend was crying and playing the deceased’s favorite song and the person who works here said “You guys need to hurry up because we’re leaving” after 15 minutes being there. This place is nothing but money grabbing greedy people who only cares about your money.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is also related to the rushed cremation of a friend of mine. A friend that had very specific wishes that were to be carried out after she had passed. What those wishes were should be inconsequential. Bowling Funeral Home WILLFULLY violated those final wishes, despite contractual documents being delivered to them with plenty of time to spare.
Presumably, they did it at her family's request. You might find this sympathetic, I do. But if you want the best chance of your own personal, final wishes carried out, do not count on Bowling Funeral Home. Don't count
