Criminal Sexual Conduct cases are some of the most difficult to defend under Michigan law. The penalties can be far out of reach from the harm done. Additionally, many prospective jurors believe that anyone accused of such a crime must be guilty. After all, "why would a kid lie about it?" Trust me, they do and often many members of the family know it and won't come clean.
750.84 Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder; assault by strangulation or suffocation; "strangulation or suffocation" defined; other violation out of same conduct. Note that while the statute defines strangulation as something that impedes breathing, prosecutors routinely charge this when any contact is made with the neck.

I used Ryan as a lawyer, on a case over the course of 2 and a half years, it was delayed due to covid and other reasons, he was extremely helpful and very involved the whole time and made me feel comfortable, he made himself available for me whenever I needed and was on top of everything - things went the best they could have- would highly recommend him to anyone

Mr. Maesen met with me and was very supportive even though he was yawning at our meeting. He failed to contact me for my arraignment so I called him and he asked me where I was at! Ryan only pretended to be supportive until he received the retainer fee, after that the communication was poor on his part, I would have to contact him if I received a letter from the courts to find out what it was about. I would leave messages for a return call and the next day his voicemail says he was on vacation. I later replaced him and he really became sour, he was no way the supportive counsel he was prior to

Ryan was AMAZING!! He was aggressive and that is what I liked about him. He saved me from jail and saved my reputation being a nurse and all. I liked how he was so responsive to me and answered all my questions. He made me feel so much better and handled everything for me it was a big stress relief for me!!
