Returning home triumphant from the battlefields of the Civil War, Captain Benjamin Alpheus Jobe quickly made his mark on southwestern Pennsylvania. Jobe was one of seven families who founded the village of Turtle Creek in the Monongahela Valley just east of Pittsburgh in 1867.
