We measure the passing of time in our lives through the changing of seasons, from the springtime of our youth to the twilight of our autumn years. For over 75 years, we have helped area families navigate through their darkest hours. With experienced, caring professionals providing exceptional service and facilities, our mission is to listen to your needs, offer options and create a ceremony that will honor a life well lived.
We understand that it's not always possible to pay respects in person due to time, distance, or any number of other factors, so we hope that this small token will help. We are an official Cell Phones for Soldiers drop off location. Please help support our troops serving overseas, by dropping off your used cell phone at the funeral home.

Services
We are proud to embrace traditional values, diversity and innovation in honoring the spirit and life of each person we serve. Letting go of a loved one is usually a very difficult process. In order to provide your family peace-of-mind, our funeral home offers complete care, so you can focus on comforting each other as you prepare to say goodbye to someone dear to you.
With over 75 years of service to local families and three generations of funeral directors, Barnhart Funeral Home has been locally owned and operated by native Greensburgers. In 1931, Mr. Alex D. Buckley purchased the former Maxwell Funeral Home. Two years later, Mr. Buckley partnered with Maurice C. Barnhart and established the Buckley-Barnhart Funeral Home, on Arch Avenue in Greensburg.
When it comes time to care for a deceased loved one, you may feel overwhelmed and confused about the next steps and options. Our funeral home staff members are here and ready to help. Whether you'd like a funeral or a more creative celebration of life, we can assist you to select the funeral service options that hold the most meaning for you and your family.
Obituaries act as quiet reminders of the finite nature of our lives. Yet, for those who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend, an obituary means so much more. It is a bittersweet reminder of all we've lost, but it can also help us to remember all we enjoyed while they were alive.
All we need to do is say the word "funeral" and within microseconds, you have an image in your mind of what a funeral looks like. This mental image comes from many sources: the geographical place, culture and society in which we live; our faith; our life experience.
Obviously then, a funeral service in Borneo would look very different from one held in Tanzania; there are even significant differences between the funerals held in ethnically and/or geographically diverse regions of North America.Yet, despite the differences, these funeral services have much in common.

Our rating of Barnhart Funeral Home is limited solely to the professionalism of Jeffrey Barnhart and his willingness to accommodate us in our time of greatest need.
Our father recently passed away and we were in need of a quality funeral home who could care for us in our time of greatest sorrow. We called Jeffrey Barnhart at 5:30 am, who personally answered the phone and, after a brief conversation, agreed to meet with two members of our family at 6:30 am that same morning. Mr. Barnhart was kind, compassionate and extremely accommodating at a time when we most needed it. Mr. Barnhart was professional
