Formerly known as Pet Med Plus, West Madison Veterinary Hospital, located in Madison, Alabama, is a full service companion animal hospital serving both emergency cases as well as less urgent medical, surgical and dental issues. Our staff is dedicated to providing our clients, new or established, with the highest quality of medical care throughout the life of their pets.
West Madison Veterinary Hospital is a full-service animal hospital, offering a wide range of veterinary medical services for our patients including wellness planning and preventative care, general and specialized surgical procedures, dental care, vaccinations, in-house Laboratory testing, and illness/disease and injury management.
Going out of town to visit family or for a business trip? Let your pets stay with us while you're away. Our full service boarding facility offers a warm, loving, climate controlled environment as well as ongoing care throughout the day, even on the weekends. We offer luxury suites and standard suites to comfortably accommodate any sized dog.
Your developing puppies are precious and susceptible to common viruses and diseases other dogs may carry. We have designated a quiet, and calming boarding area to facilitate your young puppies between the ages of 6 weeks to 16 weeks of age to aid in the prevention of coming in contact with any contagions.
Our receptionists can coordinate your pet's bathing appointment in conjunction with receiving medical services with our veterinarians, in between sessions of playing in doggie daycare or to freshen up at the end of a boarding stay. Your pet's safety is our first priority. As a veterinary facility with bathing, boarding and doggie daycare, we have a large variety of pets coming in and out of our facility on a daily basis.

Everyone was very sweet and so helpful. We usually board our dogs at pet paradise but unfortunately they were booked. So we decided to try out this place.This was my first time boarding my dogs there and my dog got kennel cough. My dogs are fully vaccinated and they have never been sick . When we picked them up is when they started showing signs of kennel cough.

The check-in tech was very helpful and courteous, after that it was like a visit to a car dealership. We waited two hours for a diagnosis, we then received three estimates, each one increased $200.00-$300.00 dollars until we got there to pick her up and another $200.00 was added. The main reason for our visit was diagnostics, our local Vet does not have Ultrasound and I had to push them to perform the X-ray and Ultrasound. They advertise x-ray and ultrasound, they can do x-ray, so they say, we never got to see them and they said they couldn’t do an ultrasound. They recommended an overnight stay

When most vets took the day off for snow and ice, this vet understood the importance of being open to help take care of pets no matter what the conditions were outside. My dog Snoopy somehow got a hold of a… corn cob and devoured it before we could get to him. West Madison Vet was just about the only vet opened during an ice storm which speaks volumes to how serious this vet takes their job. The vet and entire staff were wonderful in helping assess the risks and procedures that needed to take place and were very knowledgeable to any questions I had. Even though our dog isn’t out of

The family dogs were boarded here for 3 days while we traveled. 4.5 Stars (it doesn't all for the half star). The place is Huge and Nice, if planning to board one may consider going on a tour before the day of boarding. We had a rushed tour as the facility was filled with other pets for the weekend. For our small 19lb Terrier, she had a 24 hour live video luxury suite with viewing glass outdoors of the facility as well as the interior viewing glass to the hallway of the facility, a bed, and several rugs. Our bigger pet 67lbs, had an in and out suite and was able to go outside when he wanted not

I don't know what i would have done without them! Dr. Mixon has gone above & beyond to diagnose my Arnie and get him well. She even pulled in resources at one of the Alabama Universities to figure out the… puzzle. Once we figured out the problem she even went as far as to hold a large pet pharmacutical company accountable. I cannot imagine how many hours she spent doing all the research and digging, but I'm so incredibly thankful. Before, Arnie could barely walk for 20 minutes, now he's trotting for 2 miles solid! Thank you Dr. Mixon!!!

I am Taylor Pierson's sister, I was the one that actually brought Oliver (the cat) into the Vet Office. Oliver was staying with us, my mother was out of town and I noticed he was having an eye issue, called my mother who then called this office and requested that I can bring him in. My mother had Taylor call the vet office before hand to let them know his history and at the time she told them that he needed an antibiotic ointment, as this has happened to him in the past and its the only thing that clears him up. When I got to the vet with Oliver I had Taylor on speaker phone talking with the vet

I recently relocated to the Huntsville area from Connecticut where my family owns and operates a boarding facility with doggy daycare and grooming. Coming from the business myself, I am very pleased with the services provided to my dog at West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. The staff are friendly and patient with my anxiety about boarding my dog- and Tucker always returns well cared for. I LOVE the fact that all of the staff are trained in "Fear Free" training, which makes me feel much better about boarding my dog who has separation anxiety. And coming from New England, the prices

I will start by saying that the staff is courteous. We have gone here for two years or so now. Today was the last visit though. We order our pet's heartworm meds online or get it from a local pharmacy. Each time our pet is due for a new script they force a heartworm test before they will write the script. They do not require it if you buy the meds… from them. They feed you a line of garbage about how they can't trust meds from outside their office so you must get the heartworm test or they won't write the script. This is nothing but an attempt to recover some of the revenue lost by consumers

Everyone at West Madison is great. They take care of my dog as if he was their own. They are always patient with my questions and requests for his care. My dog goes there for vet care as well as day care and boarding. When I pick him up, he is stress free which means to me that he has received alot of attention, caring and exercise. That is so important to me. They truly do treat us as family.

I have used WMVet for nearly 3.5 years now and I absolutely love them. My cavalier swallowed some fabric that required surgery to remove. Dr. Mixon + the staff were fantastic at communicating back and fourth… with me in regards to what the best care would be, cost and his recovery. Dr. Mixon stitched him up well and the surgery went wonderful! I highly recommend West Madison!!

Our Yorkie Terrier mix stayed here 6 weeks ago when we had to leave time unexpectedly. Coco is a rescue puppy, we don't know much about her background. I was worried about her since she hadn't been away from us more than a couple hours since we got her the end October. After taking a tour I was sure she would be fine. They answered questions before… I had a chance to ask. The staff was extremely friendly when I called and when I went in to see the place she would be staying. When we picked up they was happy to see us, she was well taken care of. We hadn't chosen a vet, we have one now. This

It surprises me that this place has very little reviews! I have never seen another facility such as this one that is so clean. I must say that it feels very comfortable knowing that my pets are in a clean environment! Its unbelievable how dirty other places can be when people board their pets! The employees here are very caring and friendly. My pets absolutely love this place and get very excited when they see this building. I highly recommend that everyone comes here! Great service, clean building, and great employee's!! I know for a fact that I'm getting my money's worth here.

My Miniature Schnauzer stayed here this past week while we attended our daughter's wedding out of town. Had never left him before since adopting him. They reassured me that he would be well cared for. Answered… tons of questions and gave me a tour. I felt good leaving him here! Called to check on him and got good reports. Picked him up this morning. Felt so relieved to find a good place that I trust and feel comfortable with. Thankful for everyone who helped with Titan.
