Northway Animal Hospital was opened in 1967 by Dr. Charles Horton on Cook Avenue across from "The Mall". After working for Dr. Horton in high school, graduating veterinary school and practicing in Huntsville for 6 years, Dr. Rip Patton took over Northway in 1994 and since then has enjoyed caring for family pets in the area.
Since 1989 Northway has been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, an honor held by only 15% of veterinary hospitals in the country. Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our hospital! We're happy to introduce ourselves and share a little bit about our history, our philosophy and our staff. We are dedicated to helping your pet achieve the highest quality of life. Our team provides exceptional care while showing respect for you and your beloved companion. Becoming a client is easy. When we receive your information, a member of our team will be in touch to help you schedule your first appointment.
At Northway, out of respect for your time and to minimize chaos, we try to handle as much as we can by appointment. Give us a call and we will do all we can to get your pet taken care at a time convenient to you. When you arrive we will do our best to make sure you are brought into an examination room as soon as we have one available.
We are happy to book an appointment for you. This is not an automatic process. Once we receive your request, we will contact you to confirm a date and time that is as close to your request as possible. If your appointment has not been confirmed within 24 hours, please feel free to contact the practice by phone to confirm.
Making sure our patients remain safe during surgery and other medical procedures is extremely important to us. Our team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians is skilled in using anesthesia and monitoring patients to ensure their safety and provide the most comfortable experience. Anesthesia and patient monitoring vary greatly from clinic to clinic.
