The Good Shepherd Preschool
What a joy it is to welcome you to The Good Shepherd Preschool. Your interest in our early learning center is much appreciated! Our Arizona culture offers many choices for early childhood education for this generation. You can spend months touring. At The Good Shepherd Preschool, also referred to as TGS, we pride ourselves in offering a safe, loving environment with highly qualified teachers who make learning fun and challenging.

Children want to learn about the world around them and they have questions that need to be answered! They find their answers at The Good Shepherd Preschool, for we exist to provide an early childhood education experience that is Bible-based, God-centered, as well as academically and developmentally sound in a safe, loving, nurturing environment.
Services
Did you know that 90% of a child's brain is fully developed by the time they are five years old? At The Good Shepherd Preschool, we focus on the developmental milestones in an infant's life and assist in the mastering of each stage. Motor, sensory, and communication skills are all developed through one-on-one interaction with each individual child, as well as through group play.
Our explorer group of one-year-olds love to move, sing and play! In this age group, we continue our focus on developmental milestones by singing the alphabet, playing alphabet games, reading stories to improve their attention span and counting from 1-10. Each child is properly geared for advancing to the next class!
To prepare four and five-year-olds for kindergarten, we focus on phonics and reading recognition of names, sounds, and pictures of long and short vowels and consonants. This includes the sounding out of blends and one and two-word vowel words, the reading of sentences and stories with one and two-vowel words.
School-aged children at The Good Shepherd Preschool experience fun, yet structured, time before and after school. They will learn the building blocks of good character, such as respect, self-control, good habits and leadership, throughout the day. Time is also set aside for homework. Our before and after school care is available for picking up and dropping off your child at the beginning and end of the day.
Our math classes introduce number recognition while teaching children to identify patterns, recognize shapes and learn simple problem-solving. The students will learn to write, count, add, and subtract numbers. Additionally, they learn to identify or count money. The Good Shepherd Preschool is a faith-based institution and our students learn about God through Bible stories and music.

Such a great place, this place treats children so well and really lets them be the tiny adventurers they are. I have an infant whose been here for awhile and they are so good to him. He has anxiety with even some family members but really loves the ladies here who are always with him. He gets his social time with the other babies here, I get to come fed him breast milk on my lunch, and they are so caring and sweet with him. I'm blessed to have found this place. They are truly great!

We started at this preschool in early June and I cannot say good enough things about this faith-based daycare/preschool.
My daughter loves coming to school everyday and we have never had an issue with staff. Staff is friendly and welcoming and the teachers are experienced and caring, so much so that we ended up following my daughter's teacher here from another preschool after it had closed, and we weren't the only family to do so. There is a good balance of structure and free-play, and I am more than satisfied with the academic progress my daughter has made with her time here.

So many things to say. The place changed management in June 2019 and since then has taken a serious dive in care and the front office staff makes everything complicated and difficult. They do not have any learning actives or crafts for the older kids. That was all cancelled. The younger kids are left to their own to play. No interaction from adults I am seriously disappointed on where they have gone with this day care. Preschool kids are not taught anything anymore. This is simply a place to warehouse kids

Please consider elsewhere when looking for a childcare facility. My nephew who is 2 was slapped in the face by a daycare worker. Another teacher saw it and reported it. They asked the girl who hit my nephew what happened and told her that the girl who said something is the one to wittiness it. Obviously that can cause friction and is unethical. They had 2 full days to notify my sister that my nephew was hit in the face. (The rest of the full day Thursday and until close on Friday.) The owner and consultant (that's all she would say she was and refused to give her name) both knew of the allegations
