Durango Muffler & Brake Automotive has served the Durango area since 1974, but our business began in 1952. We started as a brake repair shop and evolved into an "everything" auto repair shop over the years. Now we're a third generation family-owned and operated business, with two generations-Tony Cleveland Sr. and Tony Cleveland Jr. ("TJ")-working in the shop every day.

Unless your vehicle requires premium gasoline, filling up your car with high-octane gas is a waste of money. The premium gas doesn't boost your gas mileage or performance. If you're not sure what grade works best for your vehicle, your owner's manual will tell you. You can also ask your mechanic what grade to use.

Very friendly. Warm office. Stuck to the quoted price. It would be nice if they could get things done in a timely manner when you make an 8 am reservation but don’t work in it until 4 in the afternoon. They finished by 5 but maybe we could have had a noon reservation and still been done by 5?😜

I can always count on TJ and his team! They have absolutely gone above and beyond for me several times. They have really saved me and it is so nice to have confidence in your mechanic! They are super fair in price and have extreme knowledge on all different vehicle makes. We have a few different vehicles and they are great on all of them! I always know I am getting great service at a fair price. As a woman with limited auto knowledge, I always know they have my back!!

The courtesy and promptness of this shop is world class. They got my truck in and out of their facility in record time (especially in this day and age). They were communicative during the entire process. They did everything they said they were going to do and more. They even locked my truck up in their shop over the weekend because I had a few unsecured tools in the bed! Thank you!

On our multiple state roadtrip our brakes started acting up coming down a steep grade. Our next stop was Durango, CO. Upon recommendation from two people we went to Durango Automotive. It was Monday morning and despite full schedules for that day and the next, Durango Automotive found time for us and replaced the rotors and had the truck ready for us at the end of the day. They were nice and professional as well. Our truck is fine now with no further issues on the remainder of our trip. Thanks for taking care of us to keep us safe. There is nothing Bryan Hill can't build! And being there for almost 20 years- chances are he remembers your car more than your name. Always honest and dependable- he has build one of the most solid and well known reputations in the Durango/Four Corners area. Master fabrication and knowledge you can't find with just any mechanic.
