A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).

Chris was caring and provide professional service when my Mom passed away suddenly. I live in Wisconsin which made planning arrangements very difficult. I truly appreciate there service the cost of services. Unlike other funeral home's Grand Strand does not take advantage of family in the mourning .

My husband , mother and I went to inquire about their cremation package. We were treated respectfully and very impressed with Chris and Jeff. Jeff was very professional and extremely organized. He lead us through the process and made it very easy to make a difficult decision. We highly recommend Grand Strand Funeral Home!!

I left a review earlier this week, but not sure why it doesnt appear online. I'll try again. My father lived here locally and myself out of town, several hours away. When I was able to get here, Chris Ward met with me promptly and with compassion and professionalism. Never having made arrangements before, he held our hand and answered any questions and concerns we had. Even making a request, after the fact, he honored it and made accommodations for us. I just cant get over the ease that was afforded us during this incredibly sad time. As a healthcare professional, I also understood and respected

Do not use this funeral home. Within 36 hours of the death of my loved one, Chris Ward, who told me he was the "boss", treated my family horribly. The other functions of the facility may be fine (that is still to be seen for us), but they are totally not worth the stress when you're already dealing with heartache. Go elsewhere.
