Bela (pronounced "bay-luh") Hair Studio opened its doors in 2012 in one of the most scenic neighborhoods in Portland. Situated smack dab on Mt. Tabor, Bela sits in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by charming businesses and a spectacular view of the Portland skyline. At Bela we are all about practicing sustainability and supporting our local community, often participating in community events and featuring local artists.
Born and raised in Portland, Penny is a true Portlander. Penny has been styling hair for over 30 years. Despite her years of experience, Penny continues to educate herself about new hair trends and styling techniques. She absolutely loves Portland's strong sense of community, support for small businesses, and drive to be a green city.
Update your haircut with the latest hair trend or keep your stylish cut looking great with a trim. Shampoo and condition are included with all our haircuts! The stylists at Bela have watched hair color evolve over time and we have evolved with it. Staying current and educated is our priority, because we want our customers to have the best color experience.

Called Bela Hair for a last minute appointment & got one with Karen Rubin the next morning (yesterday). Communication was very easy, they texted me to make sure I got in at a time that was good for me. Karen was very nice & efficient, my two favorite things in great customer service! She did exactly as I had asked & totally understood what I was going for. I'm loving my new trim, it's feeling healthy & fresh. Thank you Karen & Bela Hair for great service! I'll most likely be back again.

As more of a Barber Shop kind of guy I can say without any false sense of modesty that Curt (stylist at Bela) has given me the best haircut ever!. He is not only extremely talented but friendly and personable.
I showed him a picture of the style I wanted knowing full well that my hair would not take that kind of style but Curt made it happen!

Bought a Groupon for consult, shampoo, haircut with Curt and I'm super happy! We discussed what I was looking for as my hair was quite long and I hadn't gotten a cut in over a year. He made some suggestions and he was spot on. If you're looking for a stylist who listens and does an amazing job got see Curt @ Bela!

Bella Hair Studio is a great experience. Penny who is the owner is honest, professional, engaging, talented and as my son would say...."knows her way around a head of hair" She does an amazing job and always gives you insight and suggestions if you don't know what you want. I always trust her because she does a flawless job EVERY time. I took a leap of faith over five years ago and it is well worth the 35 minute drive from West Linn to get my hair cut and colored. I honestly would drive an hour and half if I needed to get my hair done by Penny!!

It probably depends on which stylist you go to at Bela. I asked for grey blending which in the past I had done at another salon. I guess she didn't understand because she bleached my entire head and added toner to the top of it. It has costs me $100s to get it corrected and still doesn't look great.

A great place to go for a hair cut. Tere has been cutting my hair for a few years now and always does a great job. I'm able to schedule via text and she has evening appointments available. A nice atmosphere inside. The owner, Penny, is very nice as well and it feels good to support a local small business.

This is a cute -- light and bright -- little hair salon in Mt Tabor. I found it through Styleseat, a scheduler that my massage therapist uses. That's how I found stylist, Jennie Mull, and, I'm so glad I did! She's amazing!
Since she's a big animal lover, Jennie uses all natural hair products that are cruelty-free and organic: a vegan shampoo and conditioner line, as well as an all-natural color line.
She did an incredible job on my color, which looks just one shade more than natural (exactly what I asked for!), and I got a rad haircut from her, too! Totally affordable, too

Tere Robbins has been cutting and coloring my hair for the last six month. I have difficult hair (very fine, random curls, etc.) and she has done a great job. Her prices are very good and make it not too painful for me to get in every four weeks to "touch up" my gray roots. The atmosphere at the salon is fun and casual -- much more like a neighborhood salon than a snooty and overpriced shop!
