At Portland Preschool of the Arts we believe that preschool should be fun! Preschool should open kids eyes to the Joy of learning and friendship. We trust and encourage the natural instinct that children already have to learn, explore, and expand their understanding of the world around them. In our classroom the student is the leader and their education is guided by their natural curiosity, their peers, and our well-trained teachers and mentors.

As children these days grow into elementary school they aren't just being asked to take on an academic education, they are being asked to navigate increasingly difficult and pervasive social and emotional landscapes both in school and on-line. It is critically important that we prepare our kids for these new and unique challenges through social and emotional learning in the preschool years.
Services
You have come to the right place. There is a yearly materials fee of $150 per student ($50 for summer-session-only students) Your materials fee acts as an enrollment fee to hold your spot in the preschool and is non-refundable. 2 sessions/days per week minimum enrollment is required. While we do have a 2 day per week option, we encourage 3 days or more to support students educational growth, confidence, and social development.
Our space is a large open room of approximately 1,900 square feet with lots of natural light from our big front windows. It is sectioned off into spaces that allow for movement, relaxation, reading, imagination play, and messy, expressive art! Big soft white lights hang from the high ceilings and art from our students is displayed proudly on the walls.

Nice little place as a play school for young children. They have lots of art supplies and toys. There are two rabbits that children can watch or feed. The cost for the first child is $12 and for the second child is $8. Adults and children under one are free.

Flexible, fun, and sure to encourage your child to develop creativity. Both of our boys loved it!

I was lucky enough to have both my son finish up his preschooling here and my daughter now attend this wonderful school. Teacher Emrie is warm and fun with a knack for drawing out the creative side of little ones. Her play-based approach with a focus on art and exploring the sensory world gives children the space they need to develop their own natural curiosities. I can't recommend this school enough!
