Training has transformed from an activity to a lifestyle for all 3 of us. Mastery goes far beyond the stereotypical "kicking and punching" of martial arts training and instills the principles of mental and social development in conjunction with physical training. I see the benefits of this holistic approach in not only my children, but also in myself as we apply Mastery's lessons to our daily lives.

My son's classmate had invited my son to his Karate class "Little Dragons" on Monday at 5:15 pm. I couldn't believe the waves of children and the classes that Mastery offers. There was a class before us and a class after us! So my son had a buddy which made me feel more comfortable but what was great is the instructor at Mastery - Anthony introduced my son to the class and made him feel welcome and the instructor remembered his name and acknowledged him several times over the course of the class!

I was so impressed by Anthony as well as the facets that martial arts actually

My son lost his mother and became withdrawn socially. I tried hard and long to think of people who could help him come back to his old self.
Mr. Pezzillo was one of the few people I had ever meet that I trusted had the skills and the passion to potentially help my son. You may think that martial art instructors don't effect students on all levels, but the best ones do! And...
Mr. Pezzillo is the Best!

I will always be grateful to Mr. Pezzillo and the staff/culture of Mastery Martial Arts Johnston for bringing my boy back.

I can honestly say this place is worth the investment. Their lessons are not just about martial arts, which they are exceptional at, but transend over to life outside the studio. The renforcement of children's school studies and behavior, the balance they provide, the winning attitudes they instill while embracing failure as a fact of life and learning tool. All of this which is brought worth in a staff that truly cares and wants each student to succeed. I cant recommend them more. Its worth the finacial strech. Not to mention its a lot of fun and a great way to exert bottled up energy.

We are always struggling with our 12 years old that has autism. Last October, we signed him up at mastery Johnston, honestly speaking we didn't really think it's going to make any changes beside exercises.
We were WRONG! Just barely one month into the class, huge differences. He is more 'reasonable ', more responsible, his grades improved from D's to all A's or B's. Even received a few compliments from School.
Of course there are times that he is having a hard time with emotions. All we needed to do is to let Mr Pezzillo knows and he always take times to talk

Its difficult to say what my child would be like without Mastery Martial Arts as he is 7 and has been practicing for 3+ years. He is attentive, poised, and polite. He is also strong and determined. Mr Pezzillo works with the students on both an individual level and group training. He provides excellent instruction and knows how/when to push my son. I appreciate the fact that my child thinks karate is hard. It should be, if he is to learn. The Mastery program is an excellent guide and we enjoy seeing our sons successes through karate.

Mastery is more than just a karate school. It has provided my family with the ability to be united and engaged not only physically but emotionally and mentally. We are learning so much about yourselves, and each other. Mastery is more than just a work out a couple nights a week, it encourages unity. It built a stronger foundation for my family and all our relationships. The team here is more like family than a social gathered acquaintances. Being parents, starting the program with our child, it has allowed us all to grow, and encourage and support each other on our individual journey. Mr. Pezzillo

Our son was having behavioral issues in school, and Mastery was recommended to us as a way to provide him with a structured environment to learn life skills such as respect and working towards goals. The training at mastery talks a lot about never giving up, working hard, and making sure that your have follow through on promises. This was all great. The staff is very enthusiastic, almost to a point of having a cultish vibe. Initially, my kids really got a lot out of it and were doing well. Then came the changes. The schedule, routine, and expectations change continuously seemingly on the whim of

Very pleased with the program. The instructors are great and the school is right sized for the amount of students. The big negative is all the hidden costs and constant up selling.

They now use the name Mastery Martial Arts.
