The waiting room will be closed so please wait until we invite you in. PENINSULA AVENUE VETERINARY CLINIC has been serving the San Francisco Peninsula (Burlingame/ San Mateo) since 1985. We are located on Peninsula Avenue in San Mateo, right on the border with Burlingame. We are a small independent, non-corporate hospital.

We are committed to provide you with competent, compassionate personalized veterinary care for your beloved companion. We are here to keep your pet healthy and aid when illness strikes. We strive to keep our commitment by keeping current in veterinary medicine, consulting with local specialists and worldwide on Veterinary Information Network.
Services
Pets age rapidly in a year and so yearly exams advisable. Rec twice a year in geriatrics over 10 years of age. Cats often get Tapeworm from fleas and roundworms from eating mice. Roundworms can pass on to people, especially children. Administer one year after kitten series (every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks old) and then every 3 years.
Hence it is best to open those vials in a separate room with a closed door to avoid dropping one and the pet running over and ingesting it before you can get to it. Those need to be kept out of reach to avoid them chewing through the pill vial. Since their existence, knowledge on pet toxicities and their treatment has skyrocketed.
The requirements can change, so we recommend checking again each time you travel. It can become a time crunch. If the pet has only had one rabies vaccination, or there has been a large gap between vaccines, he/she may not pass the rabies titer. In addition, some destinations require documentation that the the appropriate microchip was implanted prior to rabies vaccination and hence may need an additional rabies vaccine and waiting period.
At Peninsula Avenue Veterinary Clinic, we provide the highest quality care for your four-legged family member. We also know that sometimes that care can be financially prohibitive. We often get questions from our clients regarding the value of pet insurance and whether or not it is the right option for our clients.
I am the owner or authorized agent of the pet identified herein, hereby consent to the examination of my pet by staff veterinarians at Peninsula Avenue Veterinary Clinic and after consultation with me to prescribe for, treat, hospitalize, anesthetize or perform surgery on my animal.

I understand that some risks always exist with anesthesia and/or surgery and that I am encouraged to discuss any concerns I have about those risks with my attending veterinarian before the procedure is initiated.I understand that an estimate of the costs for veterinary services will be provided to me and that I am encouraged to discuss all fees attendant to such care before services are rendered and during my pet's admission.

Great place to bring your pet. The people are great and the veterinarians don't push for services you don't need.

Dr. Hall and the techs took really great care of my grumpiest of grumps cat Harley. She was really forthcoming with all the information we'd need for caring for Harley (has leaky eyes). Super affordable and I especially liked that they ran me through the bill early and wouldn't charge until after the work was done, assuming that Harley might be too stressed to have it done at all.
Included picture of Harley being adorable for cat tax.

They have quickly become our new family vet. We bring both our dogs here. They never overcharge and are very fair with pricing.

This is a great vet. They treat my dog with care, communicate well and don't try to oversell you on treatment.

This is the only pet hospital that can see my cat in a week. Almost all other places don't take new patient. Dr Kelley did a thorough check-up of the 3-4 issues of my cat, and provided proper treatment. After the visit, she also sent me a detailed handout to understand the disease my cat is experiencing. It's such a relief to have my cat treated timely. Besides, the staff are friendly and responsible. Note that the parking is behind the building.

Peninsula Avenue Veterinary Clinic has always come through for us. They performed surgery to save one of my cat's lives when he ate a hair tie. Routine care has always been clearly explained, no hidden costs, and as painless a process as possible. Their Covid protocols are sensible and haven't unduly complicated the experience. Recommended!

The two doctors here are excellent. Dr. Hall has been my pet's doctor for 10 years. I have a friend that travels from Reno to this clinic. They always offer the least invasive and inexpensive solution first. The office itself is not fancy, but my dog does not seem to mind!

Pros: Doctors who care about animals, are willing to problem solve with you and consider what's best for your pet. Medical advice always on point.
Cons: Rude reception staff who sounds like they're doing you a favor by taking your call. Really not what you want to deal with when already worried about a sick pet
