Jennifer Catino is a NYS licensed Physical and Massage Therapist. She earned her BS and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University in CT. She is also a graduate of the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in Albany, NY. She has worked as a physical therapist since 2002 and has been practicing massage since 2004.
After working in the traditional medical model for many years and finding a lack of appreciation of the body as a whole, Jennifer knew she wanted to open a practice that allowed for the treatment of the whole person, body, mind, and spirit, not just a few of the parts.

Services
Manual PT uses one-on-one and hands-on focus giving specific attention to what your body needs to help relieve your pain. Manual physical therapy utilizes the therapist's trained eyes and hands-on skills and techniques to assess, treat, and prevent further injury. Instead of just doing exercise routines, manual physical therapy patients receive individual attention and hands-on treatment from the therapist for the entire session.
An evaluation of the areas of discomfort or dysfunction will be done using palpation and motion assessment. For a Physical Therapy Session clients typically dress in loose clothing such as shorts and a shirt or a tank top. After a review of your symptoms, you will lie on a massage table and the therapy will be done using a variety of hands-on techniques.
Do I need a prescription to see you? There is direct access for physical therapy for 10 visits or 30 days. After which you are required by NY State law to have a prescription for physical therapy treatment. Do you participate with my insurance? At the present time I am out of network with all insurances.
I recently had foot surgery on my right big toe - recovery was going to be slow and painful - I had a boot on for weeks and could barely hobble around my house and office. I was nervous and skeptical about physical therapy because my past experience with a few different clinics in the area was underwhelming.
Bodywork for Wellness does not participate directly with any medical insurance plan. However, many clients have an out-of-network benefit that may cover part of the cost. We will gladly provide you with documentation of our services to give to your insurance provider. Costs: Initial sessions including history, evaluation, and treatment for therapeutic massage or physical therapy are 75 minutes in length for $150.

You will be hard pressed to find a more compassionate, knowledgeable provider out there. Jennifer is teaching me not only how to take care of my body from a PT standpoint, but also to listen to it, respect it, appreciate it! So gentle and wise. I never feel ashamed when she touches my body. She is really astute and intuitive. Highly recommend! She doesn't take insurance but you can try to submit it to your insurance if you have out of network coverage. Jennifer is incredible!
