Services
One of the most important things that makes Alivation's approach to healthcare different is our team of knowledgeable, caring professionals. Our team provides patients with the best care in the Midwest by working with you individually or by collaborating with other providers to ensure the right treatments.
Founded by Walt Duffy, MD, in 1998, Alivation (formerly Premier Psychiatric Group, LLC) has been proudly providing the best care to patients in Lincoln, Nebraska, and surrounding communities for two decades. In 2017, Premier Psychiatric was rebranded Alivation Health to embrace large additions to existing services.
Note: You must call in ahead of time in order to schedule a telehealth appointment. If you have an existing walk-in appointment and would like to use our telehealth platform, please call 24 hrs. If you are experiencing any technical issues with the VSee app, please call our Alivation IT Team at 402-817-2249.
As a patient of Alivation, you'll receive a comprehensive assessment with special attention given to biological, psychological, and social factors. Our team of experts is continually educated on the latest treatment options for all diagnostic categories, including psychotic, dual diagnosis and personality disorders.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a breakthrough treatment used for depression and OCD. When medication proves ineffective or causes negative side effects, this drug-free, FDA-approved, noninvasive and safe technology provides a powerful alternative treatment.

TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate parts of the brain associated with depression, and patients frequently report improvements in their mood, higher energy levels and an increased sense of well-being.TMS is more effective than medication by itself. We find 50% of people who complete our TMS program reach full remission, compared to less than 1% who continue with medication alone.

The struggles of the Covid era are real. Dr. Tom & Dr. Duffy have been great advocates for helping me find balance with my world. I read a few reviews about appointments and seeming like they are losing touch. I 100% disagree. Every time I've called in, the scheduling is a breeze, the staff is great at following up and setting expectations.
If you need help, this clinic is a great place to start.
Thanks to all the folks that are helping humans during this time!

Alivation offers wonderful life changing treatments. Dr Duffy is great. I know. I used to go and it was great. What’s not great is that unless you are extremely wealthy, you can’t get treatment because they don’t offer it affordably to those who actually need it. They just put up hoops and barriers that make it difficult to try and qualify for financial help and exacerbated your mental health instead of helping it. If you can find TMS treatment elsewhere, you should probably go there.
Update: I had a psychiatric break today on the phone with them when I told them I could no longer afford

Good doctors but reception leaves a lot to be desired, specifically that heavy set black lady. Every time we interact she seems miserable and makes me feel like my existence inconveniences her. I was running late so I tried to call and let them know. I spent 15 minutes on hold before I gave up because I was nearly there.

I felt like a guinea pig — Dr. Duffy is more concerned with his research than his patients. As soon as I became comfortable with one provider, they would switch out for someone new who just wanted to make their personal, preferential changes to my medications. The pharmacist is great, reception is friendly — but that’s not even close to being enough. The quality of care is pitiful, likely due to double or maybe even triple booking patients. I liked my behavioral providers, except the last one “assigned” to me. She was condescending and rude, to say the least. Never once were my opinions

It’s disappointing to read these reviews but helps solidify my belief that Alivation Health lacks a deep level of honesty and integrity that one would expect from their healthcare provider.
I have been going to Alivation for the past 2-3 years mainly for annual wellness exams after my primary doctor retired. This past November I came in again for the annual wellness exam which is fully covered by insurance and my employer requests for us to receive insurance discounts for 2022. After the exam I was asked to schedule a time to go over my results, either by coming into the office or by phone.

I have been going to this office for years, in the beginning it was great. But it seems to be going downhill. Now, there's almost always a really long wait just to schedule an appointment, also you have to have an appointment just to get your prescriptions filled and now they are charging anywhere from $20-$50+ just to fill out a form for you! Also most of the new receptionists are rude (except Sophia and Jen, They are awesome!). UPDATE: I was able to speak to them about several of the issues I've been having, and they were able to straighten them out! I REALLY do like Dr. Duffy as my Doctor, He

Kristen Speaker has helped me so much with finding the right balance of meds. Also she’s just a great person to chat w. Overall Alivation Health is a great place, the pharmacy is amazing and so are their research programs. One problem about Alivation is it takes forever to get ahold of one of the staff members. When you call them, your usually on hold for a long period of time. Besides that I have would 10/10 recommend!

The staff is unhelpful. been going there for a couple years now. in the years that I have been there, I have had 4-5 different psychiatrists. I wonder why they all keep leaving. I have requested my medical records multiple times; through the release of information form on their website that I submitted many times, emails, and phone calls and left voicemails, and no one from their medical records team reached out. I emailed Will Duffy directly and he was pretty much useless. I told him that I did all of those things and I was still told to go through the same process. not sure how I'm supposed to

We followed Kristen Speaker from her last office and I can't say enough nice things about the office.
Kristen does an amazing job! She takes the time to listen to concerns and creates a treatment plan with you.
The office staff and billing department are very helpful and friendly.
We recently started using Alivation Pharmacy as well. They are fantastic!!! Peter and the rest of the staff are so knowledgeable, friendly, and just a pleasure to work with.
I would highly recommend both the office and pharmacy to anyone!

I have received excellent service from Dr. Duffy and all the staff at Alivation. They care and listen. A close family member has had care including therapy at Alivation for years and is doing great. The staff are in this business to help others work through depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses. Many of the low star ratings could come from people who want magic cures but unfortunately mental illness doesn’t work that way. One has to work with their team to find what works for them. And even then your body chemistry and external circumstances change. It’s a life long illness but can
