Elevated Dental offers both minimal and moderate sedation to help ease the anxiety of our patients. Dr. Buttars received his sedation training while attending his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Las Vegas, NV. He completed over 350 IV sedation cases while serving in the United States Air Force and has completed over 50 cases here in Telluride!
Nothing makes a great first impression than a beautiful smile. Elevated Dental offers tooth-colored fillings, porcelain veneers and crowns, teeth whitening, and Invisalign clear braces. Composite fillings are natural tooth colored restorations that allow us to be more conservative with our tooth preparation and obviously more cosmetic than the traditional silver colored fillings.
Dental implants are surgical grade titanium screws that are surgically placed to replace missing or lost teeth. After placement the implant is left to heal and fuse to your natural bone and eventually will act like an artificial tooth root. Once the implant has successfully integrated (healed) to your bone, replacement teeth are attached to the implant.
Dental crowns fit over the top tooth acting like a cast. They cover and protect teeth that have lost a large section of tooth structure due to tooth decay, cracks, fractures or root canal therapy. These are recommended when a traditional tooth filling will not suffice. Crowns can be made of pure porcelain, porcelain that's is fused to metal, or gold.
Sometimes despite our best efforts, a tooth needs to be extracted. Large decay, excessive amount of tooth structure missing, catastrophic fractures, non-functioning teeth or infected teeth are the most common reasons. Extractions are also preformed on impacted wisdom teeth, where potential for future problems can occur, and when teeth are needed for orthodontic treatment.

What a great group of talented and warm professionals! Tina has been my families primary hygienist for years and has been so caring and thoughtful in her work. Dr Trent Butters is really exceptional. He and his assistants were so comforting, particularly when I was not be too thrilled to be in his chair!. Most importantly, he does a great job. He takes great care of both kids and adults.
