Here at Ridgway Family Dentistry we are blessed with an amazing staff who are dedicated to caring for our patients. Joan has been serving people as a dental assistant for over 22 years. She has been at Ridgway Family Dentistry since Dr. Thomas opened, over 11 years ago, and takes special joy in getting to know her patients.

Heart disease, diabetes, malnourishment, stroke and auto immune diseases are a few systemic conditions that have been linked to dental diseases. At Ridgway Family Dentistry we treat each patient's dental needs with a focus on their overall health.
Dr. Michael W. Thomas graduated from the Dental School at Washington University in Saint Louis, after which he was accepted into the esteemed Dental Residency program at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. This was a program to further train dentists who desired a deeper learning and hands on experiences prior to starting a private practice.
Our office is focused on building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals. We understand how uneasy some patients can feel about their dental visits, and we know that we can make a difference by providing a relaxing and positive experience. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care and service to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

I never thought I would say that I like going to the dentist, but I can say it about going to Ridgway Family Dentistry. From Dr. Thomas to Claire the hygienist to Amy who handles the front office, you are all professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and genuinely caring. As another patient of yours shared with me just minutes after my departure, he feels that you are like family. You've earned my trust, and I am glad to be in your care, even though I drive from Telluride (45 minutes away). Much gratitude.

Dr. Thomas is absolutely a world class dentist. I went to him to get my wisdom teeth pulled and it was one of the easiest processes ever. I was in and out in no time, had hardly any pain afterwards, and didn't even have to take a pain killer. I was even able to eat normal foods the next day!
He and his staff are very friendly, it's obvious they… truly care about your well-being. This is why I go to him for all my cleanings as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Thomas to anyone in the Ridgway/Ouray/Montrose area as the best dentist in this region.
