Dr. Chris Poe was born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon. He attained his DDS from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He also received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry from Western Oregon University. He has been practicing dentistry in Montrose, Colorado since 2011.

Dr. Poe and his wife, Misti, helped design the office themselves, each incorporating their vision for the perfect mix of advanced technology and a relaxing, stress-free atmosphere. They not only designed the office, but built it with their own hands. We are located at 257 Sherman Street, Suite C in Ridgway, CO, in between Mountain Medical Center and the Uncompahgre River.

I had an accident that destroyed my two front teeth, so I needed bonding, 6 veneers (and possibly a root canal). Dr Poe and the team did a fantastic job and even made me new retainers after. Below is me on Halloween 2 days after they gave me my “new teeth.”
I had no idea what all went into getting veneers, but it was a full-day process that required a tremendous amount of skill and artistic ability by Dr Poe. I wouldn’t trust or believe that most dentists would be capable of creating as great of an outcome as I experienced.

Really appreciate my visits to Dr. Poe. I was in earlier this morning and he remarked, "You have new glasses!" I said, "Yes, thank you for noticing, my wife didn't notice them until I pointed it out to her." Not only did Dr. Poe notice I had new glasses, he knew what was different compared to the old pair. I feel this is indicative of the attention to detail that Chris and his staff consistently provide for optimum dental health. My mouth is the happiest it's been thanks to River Peak!

This place was awesome! Came into town for a week getaway and my friend had a root canal gone bad and needed his tooth pulled ASAP! Dr. Poe came into the office on a Friday after hours to pull his tooth. He did it promptly and saved our vacation! I can’t say how awesome this guy is and how incredible he was to work with, after hours, on a FRIDAY!! If you need dental work in the western slope he is you let man!!

First time here and will be back again and again. I've been having tooth pain for months. Went in for a cleaning and check out the pain. I'm thinking it's an ill adjusted crown. Found an infection so bad that I need and extraction and antibiotics! Care I received was better than any other dentist I've been to; at 55, that's an awful lot of dental care. Shout out to Misti my hygienist; very professional and knowledgeable. I thought she was the dentist at first! Doc Poe; charismatic and thorough. Everything is state of the art! Which is why they found this infection and last dentist had not. Front

If you are looking for a great dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Poe at River Peak Dental. I am very selective when it comes to choosing a new dentist and after much research, I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Poe. I have to say that I couldn't be happier with my decision. Everyone I spoke with was so friendly and welcoming and the entire appointment was such a positive experience overall. I could not be more pleased than with the care I receive at River Peak Dental.
I no longer dread going to the dentist. The staff are all pleasant, professional and competent.
Dr. Poe is personable and explains everything in away that you can understand. He ensures that prior to a procedure, every care is taken to alleviate pain and discomfort.

My routine cleaning appointment was yesterday, and as always was a great experience. Claire performed an excellent cleaning loaded up with lots of recent dental research! I loved hearing this! I haven't been to the dentist in a long time. At the urging of my family, I decided to try River Peak. I am very impressed with the excellent service, state of the art technology and top-notch knowledgeable staff! Chris and company assessed my teeth, developed a plan for treatment, checked our level of insurance coverage, and provided detailed pricing and payment options- all after fitting me into their busy schedule on short notice! I feel much better about going to the dentist than I have in years. If you need dental work, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND River Peak Dental!
