Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral
Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home was established in Lewiston, Idaho in 1924 by Loren B. Wann and Eugene Brower in a Victorian mansion on Main Street. Mr. Wann purchased Mr. Brower's interest in the 1930's. During WWII, Mr. Wann became ill and died, and the business was assumed by Betty until Kermit could return from the military.

After the War and after college training, Mr. Malcom became the owner/manager. He followed the tradition of community involvement and providing the most up-to-date practice in funeral service. The funeral home experienced a fire in 1950 and a new facility was built at 1711 - 18th Street over the next two years; where it still exists.
Services
The admissions staff of the hospital or care center should have asked what funeral home preference you have. They will usually be the ones to notify the funeral home. If a death occurs at home and the deceased was under the constant care of a doctor (or was served by hospice), then you or the nurse can call the funeral home.
People choose the funeral actions that are right for them depending on their religious beliefs and convictions, their personal desires regarding funeral arrangements, their financial situation, and other reasons. Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home can help you develop and customise funeral options to meet your individual needs.
Thinking about our own death is not a particularly pleasant experience depending upon your philosophy on life. To the degree that we take care of our personal responsibilities, we like to have our affairs in order; this is motivation enough for some people to pre-plan their own funeral.

If you leave behind directions for your survivors about your funeral preference, and further if you pay or set aside funds for these directions, your decisions take precedence over any other person's wishes regarding your funeral plans.Personal plans come first, then the power to make funeral decisions is passed down to a person designated in a will, or a durable power of attorney for medical care appointed by you to make these decisions.
The information provided in this website is not intended to replace a meeting with one of our licensed funeral directors. We always promise to not pressure you in any way. We want to help you make the decisions that are right for you and your family, when it is right for you. It may be helpful to write out your life story.
Military Honors at a funeral or memorial or graveside ceremony. Provided by either an active service detail or a local veterans. Flag folding and presentation and taps. A firing squad is also possible.

When a funeral or memorial service is not held, the family may wish to add the deceased's name to a list for a military honors ceremony held quarterly by the Idaho National Guard at the I Am An American Memorial at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Lewiston.VA burial allowances are partial reimbursements of an eligible veteran's burial and funeral costs.

If you need a funeral home, I definitely reccommend Malcoms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was such a relief. Not to mention the fact that they have the most beautiful undertaker Ive ever seen.
