To prepare an environment where children feel peaceful, unhurried and accepted. A place where children learn how to be independent and work in harmony with one another and nature. Where manners and kindness are just the way we are to be, not something that is unnatural and distant. We want the children to find their inner peace and from there, they will learn and flourish in the environment.
Services
Sunshine House Montessori is a true learning environment. The children are encouraged to inquire, question and observe the world around them. We have a school garden that is a part of our daily curriculum, whether it's planting new vegetables, watching a caterpillar make a chrysalis or harvesting our snack for the day.
I have had the privilege to teach along side Malina Brown (Miss Mimi) for four years. In that time, I have witnessed how she not only teaches the principles of Maria Montessori, but embodies them. Under Malina's guidance each student is challenged, loved, and honored. Sunshine House Montessori is a place where children come to learn in an atmosphere of peace and kindness.
October is the month of exploring what is living and what is non-living, how we can care for the environment and the parts of our bodies. In December we look in to cultures around the world. How holidays are celebrated, traditional music and art along with foods. It's a fun time for all of our families to get involved and bring a little bit of their traditions together in a festive way.

Sunshine House is a dream come true for our family! I am so grateful for this preschool and its amazing teachers. Our daughter is thriving at Sunshine House after trying several other preschools. The experienced teachers are exceptional and give each child personalized attention to ensure success. The classrooms and outside play area are relaxing and peaceful for the children creating a wonderful environment where the children feel confident while they learn and grow. Our daughter amazes us with her personal, social, emotional, and academic growth since she began at Sunshine House. She LOVES school

Our two youngest children attended Sunshine House for three years and we cannot say enough good things about this wonderfully special place. Cathy and Monika have such a wonderful energy and calm about them. My kids loved going to school each and every day and the Montessori principles encouraged a very lovely sense of independence. This place is a local gem!

Very disappointing experience. We were in Boulder for only 5 months and registered our son to sunshine. We moved from Florida just a week before class started and found out our house was too far for us to take our son to sunshine. Before school started we talked with Monica, the director, then with Isa, the owner. We quickly understood we were loosing the $795 registration fee. Then we realized our contract stipulated we were responsible for 2 more months of tuition. The owner, didn't show any interest and didn't care at all about our situation, She threatened me to take a lawyer. We ended up paying

Our three children attended Sunshine House...a total of six years. One really gets to know a place well over such a period of time. The staff is excellent...deeply caring and skilled. The school is a small neighborhood location and is a great scale for kids. The facilities work very well with great real-life experiences for children and great prep for elementary education. The playground is very popular with fun activities, trees and equipment. Kids love the trike and scooter loop. There are playhouses, lawns and lots of discovery.
