Welcome to Little Scholars Academy, a special place for 2 to 6 year-olds. At both of our SW Portland schools you will find a nurturing educational environment where each child's individual talents, learning style and personality are welcomed by our passionate and dedicated teachers. Services
Children are at the heart of our curriculum. Their learning must be rooted in experiences appropriate to their developmental levels, and pursued based on an individual interest. Our quality early childhood curriculum is focused on the whole child and considers physical, cognitive and social-emotional growth.
Our schools are open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays and vacation. Tuition is currently $1185 per month for full or part-time. Your tuition allows you to use any and all hours we are open for business; you can choose any schedule you like but the rate is the same regardless.
Our schools are located in private homes that have been transformed for the children, each offering more than twice the state required square footage. Each Portland preschool location has at least two playrooms, including a "Jungle Room"; a play area specific for large motor skill indoor play, during the plentiful rainy Portland days.
We love Little Scholars! Our son thrives there and has grown so much since starting last winter, especially compared to his previous daycare. He always tells us he had a good day and how much fun he had with his teachers and friends.
A few of our favorite things are the jungle room which is amazing for the kids to play all winter, the backyard for outdoor space, the monthly calendar with a daily theme or activity, and one of the biggest differences we noticed is that he doesn't come home hungry!Also he is 2.5 yrs old but speaks like a kindergartner and potty trained and we believe that's hugely in part to the methods at Little Scholars!

Nutrition is an important part of a happy child. We provide a full breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. We have a 2 week rotating menu with a variety of meals including fresh fruits, lots of vegetables, lean meats, Tillamook cheese, whole grain bread and milk. All nitrate free and some organic. If Portland Public Schools (Multnomah County) are closed or starting late, so is Little Scholars Academy.

During our time at Little Scholars I have seen my child flourish in her verbal, social, problem solving, mathematical, and practical skills. But on top of helping prepare my child for kindergarten/life, they have supported her during times of need. They have taken the time to help her personally deal with the stress of two homes. For myself they have been helpful and willing to work with our family to help our child. Every day when I ask about my child’s day and I hear everything the teachers have done; it reaffirms that Little Scholars was the best choice I could have made.

We had a wonderful experience with Little Scholars Academy. My son is off to Kindergarten this fall and I feel so confident that he is prepared for this new journey thanks to the care and education he received at his time in preschool. We've been with this company since I returned to work after having my son at just 11 weeks old and I can't say enough good things about our time there. Thank you Little Scholars for being our son's 2nd home!!!

Little Scholars is wonderful! We started at My Bundle of Joy in 2016 and our son went through the LS schools until Oct 2019. We feel fortunate that they had an opening when we were looking for child care and confident that our son is entering school prepared and eager! He was excited to go to school almost every day (yes, almost..) and the teachers were quick to listen in the rare instance that an issue came up. We will miss you!

Our daughter has attended Little Scholars Academy for the last 10 months and she loves it. She really enjoys her time at school everyday and she is always happy when we pick her up at the end of the day. The teachers are very nice and they seem to really enjoy what they do. The facilities are nice and clean and have many activities for the kids. We have been very happy overall with Little Scholars Academy!
