Services
Daniel Fundora is a born and raised Floridian. He stared practicing martial arts at a young age and began his jiu jitsu journey in 2011 when he stepped into Carlson Gracie Miami where he earned the nickname of "Diesel". Danny didn't consider Jiu Jitsu as just a hobby, but a way of life, a passion. As he belted up in rank, he started teaching and always was an avid competitor.
Our kids program main focus is to development good character, all while teaching them physical and social skills to support them through their lives. We want them to embrace their personal power, work towards building self-confidence that will deter and discourage any potential bullying. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was developed to empower the smaller person by using technique and leverage against a larger attacker.

Our Teens program is designed to build a strong foundation and improve students coordination. Students begining the journey will understand self discipline and respect for not only their instructors, but piers. Our teens will learn and master fundamental skills along with being introduced to more advanced Jiu Jitsu moves and techniques.
Our adults program is designed and based around core techniques that every Jiu Jitsu practitioner should know. We focus on improving their overall jiu jitsu knowledge, increase movements and perfect technique. We will help you achieve your fitness goals and grappling. What sets our Academy apart from others is the individual attention our Professor and coaches give to our students.

So, as my many photos can attest. I like to train. I've been to many schools, and continue to visit friends at other schools. I'm not the best by far, I like to say I'm just really good at getting beat up, but I'm happy to report most of my partners say I'm good, good at getting smashed lol. I call Arise BJJ my home base. I was with a different school for years, but my job took me out of the country for a few years and I came back looking for a new BJJ home. My old school was still there, but as most of us know, if it's not convenient as far as distance to get there, price ranges, and a different

I enrolled my daughter Paloma in Arise about 2 months ago and It turned out to be the best decision. ever! Professor and all the coaches are dedicated and very good with our kids. The environment is amazing and it makes you want to be there every day and miss it when you can’t go. My daughter is so into it and every day she look forward to her Jiu Jitsu class.

I enrolled my son in Arise about 8 months ago. It has changed our lives. The coaches here are so dedicated to what they do and the positive influence they have on their students. They do everything they can to motivate, instill respect and confidence in their pupils. My son is so happy and looks forward to every single class and I’m happy that he has something so rewarding in his life. If you are looking for a jiujitsu spot to join, look no further.

My 12 year old son joined Arise about a month ago, the coach immediately took him in as if he was family and has taught him endless life skills. He has a new found love for Jiujitsu! I joined Arise and attended a few classes before I decided Jiu Jitsu wasn't my thing. I was surprised to receive a personal message from Diesel (one of the professors) when I stopped attending, asking if everything was okay. If he took time out of his day to check on someone that attended just a couple classes, you have to imagine he has an intense dedication to his students. Even though Jiu Jitsu wasn't for me, I can't imagine having had a better experience than I had at Arise. Also, everyone at this gym seems really nice and eager to help. Close knit group. 5 stars, guys.

Professor Diesel and Michelle run a fantastic facility. They are extremely dedicated to their students and are constantly looking to make improvements to not only the facility, but to you as a person. They are BIG on cleanliness which is also very important when choosing a place to train. I did a few trial classes at a couple different gyms before signing up with Arise and in the end, I definitely made the right decision. They give a warm welcome to anyone who wants to stop by and the family-oriented atmosphere is something that immediately stuck with me.

Arise is by far one of the best jujitsu schools. Professor Daniel is not only a constant role model for his students, hes professional, loving, compassionate, and smart. He loves what he does and strives everyday to encourage a positive learning environment. Along with Coach Michelle they have brought a new Jujitsu Family to Miami you will want to be a part of. Both parents of young children who value positive discipline, structure, and the opportunity to learn self defense while also having some fun. I highly recommend them to everyone!
