Attention Plus Care has reached a major milestone in its history by marking its 30th year Anniversary in 2013. As the oldest and largest privately owned, Hawaii State Licensed and Joint Commission Accredited Home Health Agency, this achievement highlights our experience and leadership in home health care.
Attention Plus Care staff can provide a full range of home health care and companion services including: light housekeeping, meal preparation, grooming, bathing, dressing, exercising, companionship, administration and assistance with medications and treatments, and much more. Our care is always personalized and can always be adjusted to higher or lower levels of care depending on our client's needs.
For starting services please call our office between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We really want to hear from you and meet you. We welcome you to stop by our office anytime between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. We have a Home Health Care Service request form you can download, printout and send back to us with your special needs for home care.
Aging in Hawaii is an educational outreach program sponsored by Attention Plus Care with the mission to provide resources for seniors and their families. Classes are free and instructed by a Registered Nurse covering a wide variety of topics each month. Every year, more than 6,000 Hawaii residents are diagnosed with cancer, and more than 2,000 die from the disease.

Attention Plus caregivers have looked after my elderly parent for nearly a year and almost always provide excellent care and service. The best part about working with Attention Plus is the efficiency and excellence of their scheduling department who work tirelessly around the clock to ensure that shifts are covered. The schedulers are prompt, polite, and caring. The care managers I've worked with have also been fantastic. I always recommend this company to others in need of skilled in-home care for a loved one.

The staff at Attention Plus Care is wonderful! From our very first interaction, everyone has been thoughtful, caring and sensitive to our needs. My mom experienced a bad fall a few years ago and it turned out that she had a slow bleed in her brain. Her surgery went well and required rehabilitation as her mobility weakened. I knew then that she would need oversight care at home.
I researched and carried out interviews with various caregiving agencies to see who could meet my mom's needs best. I’ve had Nursing services from Attention Plus Care for over 10 years for my son. They’ve made my life so much easier, I’m able to go to work with peace of mind that he’s being well taken cared of.
I’m especially great full for my scheduler Sam, she’s on the ball when it comes to making sure we have coverage for my son. And we love all his nurses, we have a nurse that’s been with us since we’ve been with APC, that all treat him like he’s part of their own family.

We have been working with Attention Plus for about 1 year. We love the current caregivers. We have two caregivers who cover 5 half days per week to take care of doctors appointments, grocery shopping, doing outings etc. They are very capable, kind, responsible as well as flexible.
All our needs are met. It makes it extremely easy for the family to know that she is taken care off so well.

There are a number of good caregiving companies and options to choose from in Honolulu. After a critical look, we chose Attention Plus Care (APC). I'm glad we did. They helped me and my family take the best possible care of my mother for 8 years, until she passed away early in 2020 at the age of 95.
Scheduling reliability and responsiveness were especially critical to me because I was my mom's primary caregiver and the APC schedule had to mesh with the schedules of several family members, each of whom took shifts during the week.

WARNING: COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. I would give this company 0 stars if I could. I understand that one particular caretaker does not define the company but when you promise "a team of exceptional caregivers", you've got to vet employees to make such a bold statement. On the first night the caregiver was caught fast asleep with an elastic blindfold over her eyes while our family member was screaming in pain.
We sent her packing on the spot. Upon immediate notification the service:
1. Said that they would talk to the caregiver and send her back the next day
And
2. We couldn't cancel the agreement without a penalty.
Unbelievable.
They backed down after we threatened to get a lawyer involved.
Save yourself grief. Do not hire this company. The fact

My children have had nurses & aides from Attention Plus for many years. Having 2 special needs children had me skeptical about bringing in strangers into my home. My babies were my world. I don’t know how we would have managed to care for my mother-in-law if not for the service provided by Attention Plus Care. This service provided respite for her husband, who handled most of the caregiving while my husband and I were at work. The caregivers were wonderful. One even brought food to encourage eating since she was just skin and bones. We didn’t have any complaints about the caregivers. In comparison, my own mother had to have caregivers and I went with another service. My mom complained that one caregiver spent most of the time playing on her phone.

We were blessed that Attention Plus Care took such care of our aunt who had severe dementia. They had devoted team of caregivers who came early and lifted her spirits, fed and even bathed her. They made sure she was safe and treated her like she was their own grandmother. RN Linda was the supervisor. She was kind and understanding. The administrative staff was always available 24/7. Can't imagine anyone taking care of her as caring as our ohana would. Its too bad other people wrote terrible reviews but for us, we are grateful for a positive experience.

From our first meeting we knew we chose the right agency to help out with caring for our mom. Other agencies wanted minimum hours and too many rules and no staff it was disappointing. My great aunt has dimentia and needs 24/7 home care assistance. We originally employed both Wilson and this company, Attention Plus. My sister works for AP and we are able to have her work with my aunt full time, through the company, as well as a host of other regular girls who fill in the other shifts.
Our experiences have been both good and bad. Good on the personal side in that almost every caregiver we have encountered from their agency has been kind, attentive, and professional in their care of my aunt. Bad in that their business end of things has been of the upmost level in lacking professionalism

We are very pleased with the services provided and your ability to adjust the schedules of your caregivers based on moms level of care and by how she is feeling on a particular day! We have piece of mind when we are not able to be home with her. We know shes happier when shes not left alone! Plus she gets to eat all the good food that your caregivers prepare for her!

Your caregivers did an outstanding job with my mom, she is doing better! I am so glad we are able to retain your services on an as needed basis. To our surprise, the caregivers, we had 3 recently, were able to get my mom to eat all or mostly all of her meals, and she's really picky! She goes through a lot of ups and downs, but I would recommend this agency to my friends because she was able to put on some weight and get most of her strength back!

Actually they deserve no stars at all. The VA contracted them to provide services to my WWII veteran father for 10 hours a week. First of all they couldn't staff the 5 hours each on Saturday and Sunday consistently. Kept changing staff. CNAs sometimes were a no show. Or they came late. Worst of all they were untrained. Some were good but far and few between. They had many scheduling foul ups. Before one Memorial Day the scheduler called to ask whether my dad really needed their help since it was a long weekend and maybe family would just want to cover. I decided to go with attention plus because they were the first agency to get back to me. In the beginning they were very efficient and replied to my emails in a timely manner so I figured this was a good sign. I was wrong. From the beginning it was nothing but bad experiences. The aides were constantly late due to traffic or needing to get gas. I think these excuses for being late are absolutely unacceptable. Some of the aides were nice but most of them seemed to be unskilled and lazy. The most recent aide would get her all her work done with my dad and then go talk and text on her phone. Sometimes

Horrible experience with them! My mom was just discharged from a rehab hospital after falling and hitting her head and now has trouble with balance and dementia. I brought her home but I needed someone to watch mom while I was at work so I interviewed several care giver agencies to try them out.
Attention Plus Care was the most expensive and I thought they would be the best as their initial assessment of my mom was the most professional with a RN coming in and assessing not just my mom but the apartment for safety like checking where and if we had fire alarms, emergency preparedness etc.

There was a more accurate review on Yelp but it's gone now so it's probalby time to speak up. It was pretty much constant stress dealing with this company. They had some great workers, but would send over some real Turkeys every once in a while. We caught workers bringing over strange people, sneaking off down to the store, falling asleep on the job, and actively trying to turn the patient against us. The last straw was when one of their workers physically injured the patient and then the company tried to blame it on us. For all we know that employee is still with them and is out there

I gave 5 stars for Cynde's great rapport and customer service. And, attended their intro workshop. Well worth the time, lots of good, useful and personalized info. Krista, Eileen and Mary too, answered my concerns and questions...so helpful and easy to talk to. Plus they offer a 10% discount for the first 3 months!
