Sensei Clark started his study of Shotokan Karate in 1989 as a member of the International Shotokan Karate Federation. Sensei Clark has trained under many masters of Shotokan Karate such as Teruyuki Okazaki, Takayuki Mikami, Yutaka Yaguchi, Shojiro Koyama, Shigeru Takashina, and Kenneth Funakoshi. We are dedicated to the practice and promulgation of true Karate.
Our objective is to give students a means of developing character while being strengthened both physically and mentally. This is attained by adhering to the same high standards and principles set forth by Gichin Funakoshi, founder of Shotokan Karate.

Promulgation of the traditional Japanese Karate - do developed by the father of modern day karate, Master Gichin Funakoshi. Master Funakoshi wrote the twenty guiding principals of Karate-do to help students transform their art into a way of life. Karate is like hot water; if you do not heat it constantly, it will again become cool water.
Our dojo boasts of 3,300 sqft of which two thirds are dedicated to floor training space! Our main and largest area is our 1,300 sqft wood floor where most of our class training takes place. This floor was designed to ease impact on joints while training. Our 600 sqft side training area is where our students focus on individual excercises and extra training during class.
We provide the Las Vegas community an affordable opportunity to train in Shotokan Karate and offer classes for the entire family! Sensei Clark treats individuals as students, NOT customers. We do not require our students to sign contracts to learn the art of Karate. Our objective is to give students a means of developing character while being strengthened both physically and mentally.
In 2008 Nevada Shotokan Karate started a program called "Shodan Challenges". Shodan Challenges consist of a series of physically and mentally challenging events that all students are welcome to join in on. Challenges include running, biking, kayaking, hiking, etc.
The goal is to get students to challenge themselves outside of the dojo to help build their spirit and also to encourage a variety of ways to achieve the high level of physical fitness required of serious karateka.Common Sense - do not put yourself or your loved ones in potentially dangerous situations or environments.

Hoan Kosugi, a famous artist and president of the Tabata Poplar Club, an artist guild, was a very important figure in the development of Shotokan karate-do in Japan. To entice Funakoshi to write a book about. An accurate, well documented, history of Shotokan karate is difficult to establish due to the decimation of Okinawa during World War II.

So our boy just recently joined the Little Tigers here at NSK and we already feel like family. Sensei Clark and his staff are amazing with the kids. They really care for them. They don't see them as just another membership. It's only been a week and we see such an improvement in our boy. I highly recommend this place for anyone who just wants to keep their child busy. They will learn so much. Lessons I feel that they'll carry with them in life. Do yourself and your child a favor and give them a call or stop by.
