He began teaching with just a handful of students, when the only place they could practice was on the street in front of his home. After relocating to Las Vegas from Los Angeles, he decided to start his own martial art classes, and in 1994, Lohan School of Shaolin was conceived.

The term Kung Fu (Cantonese) is a general statement used by Americans to describe the Chinese Martial Arts. Kung Fu of Gung Fu means "Hard Work "so this term can literally be used to describe one's ability to master any skill through hard work. A Painter, Janitor, waiter, and computer programmer professions can also all be described as Kung Fu if one is proficient at their job.
Traditionally, if a school has a capable troupe with many Lions, it demonstrates the success of the school, and the good fortune it brings to blessing events. The Lohan School can provide from 2 to 7 lions for your event. The Lohan School Lion Dance performances are a way to raise funds that keep our school functioning and allow tuition at an affordable cost for students who want to study but have limited means with which to pay for classes.

This is the second location that is upstairs in the Chinatown Plaza. There is nothing but great things about this school and everyone involved. Always a positive environment. This location is mostly dedicated to kid's classes but the school in general offers classes for Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Lion Dancing.

The temple side of the school has been even more of an impact on my life, having taught me about the various Buddhist, Taoist, and even some Native American traditions. These teachings were informative but general enough to apply in all parts of my life, being more philosophically and psychologically oriented than religious
