I rented from KFR for almost 2 years (22 months). This was my first apartment in San Diego after moving across the country from Miami, FL. Jaime showed me the apartment, looked over my application, and had my lease ready within two days because I was in town for a short period prior to moving for the purpose of looking for housing. The process of signing the lease and renting was as smooth as it could've ever been.
Once I was all set up, I moved in! The location was amazing for the price and everything about my experience was great. Paying rent was online

Wonderful company! While property management companies as a whole have a reputation for slow processing, poor customer service, and apathy towards tenants, KFR Star Realty is anything but that! All of our maintenance calls have been handled within 24 hours of them being reported, the customer service is excellent, and we feel we have a relationship of trust with our property manager. I find their application requirements rather invasive for just renting an apartment. I just wanted to rent a unit, not purchase the entire complex that required a security clearance. Their rental requirements are as follows:
1. Gross income to be 3 times the rent.
2. Same source of income for the past 6 months.
3. No bankruptcy, eviction/unlawful detainer within the past 5 years.
4. Favorable and verifiable credit and rental history.

KFR Star managed the property (a single family residential home) we were renting last year and they did an outstanding job! We initially found the property listed on Craigslist and were in a desperate situation because our other lease was up and we only had 7 days to find a place. We happened to call immediately after they had just posted it to Craigslist and the landlord was still doing some work to it but after explaining our situation to them they agreed to rent it to us provided we took them the deposit and first and last months rent immediately. The rental lease was initially a 6 month commitment

No wonder this realty company only has 2 stars. They have no consideration for customers. I had an appt. booked to view a duplex in the bay park area of San Diego. I showed up early and found two other perspective renters. After ten minutes past the appointment time one lady decided to call to find out why they were late. It turns out kfr decided to lease it earlier despite multiple appointments and without notifying anyone. This was a huge inconvenience to say the least. Now that I've seen the reviews of this company I will definitely not ever do business with this company.

I called last week to set up an appointment to view a property. The receptionist I spoke to was nice and set up an appointment for me the following week on a Tuesday morning. She said I would receive a phone call the day before to confirm. I never received a call and tried calling several times the morning of my appointment with no answer. My husband got off work early and we decided to go anyway as the appointment had been set. After waiting 10 minutes past our scheduled time no one showed up, so I called them again. I'd give no stars if possible. Viewed a property today that I really wanted, ran around like crazy to get the app in ASAP before anyone else and handed it in at the showing at the property, then called the office to let them know I was the first person with an app and paid fee. They rented to someone else anyway without even running my app despite the fact that I was first. Otherwise known as unfair renting practices. I'll be filing a formal complaint as well, my family won't find a similar property for the price and location and there's no reason we should have missed out

This is the worst company and office staff that I have ever encountered. Every call made to this office results in nastiness and bad service. I am an HOA President and have since contracted with another management firm. The staff and Ken frederick are incompetent dinosaurs.
This business is destined to fail and I sincerely hope it does as to not victimize any other properties or Homeowner's Associations.

We fired KFR Star Realty as a property manager in June 2012. They used to hire their own company to do the repairs. They charged us a rate greater than the rate agreed to.
In addition, they used to make the mortgage payment. When we refinanced we found that Geoff did NOT make several payments on time. As a result we had to pay a penalty, otherwise the refinancing would not close.
I met with Geoff in August 2013 and showed him the over charges for the repairs and the penalties for the mortgage payments. He said, he will check his statement and get back to me. I sent him several messages. He NEVER

Absolutely atrocious, avoid! Here are my friend's and my experiences with these people:
My friend: staying in a rental condo, they discovered a plumbing issue behind the wall. We're talking sewage here. It took months to fix because these people refused to cover moving expenses or to put them up somewhere else at no cost to complete full-on repairs. Eventually, they let my friend out of the lease and she moved away.
My experience: since my friend moved away and repairs have not yet been completed, I got the OK from her to use her parking spot for my bike. On a Saturday, I got home from

I have rented for over six months with this company, when I have called and left a message for maintenance I have gotten a response the next day. If you don't call them back you won't get a second call so they are not great on the follow up. But I have had no other problems with them and my rental property is kept in good shape and clean. I have had people over and a few times been loud late on occasion and have never received any notice from the company, maybe I have more tolerant neighbors. And the rental prices are really decent for the area I live in and what I find MOST important

Sends out violation notices frequently and never even check to see if they are true.

Rented an apartment from KFR for about 9 months over in north park this year. Art was a cool guy I believe he is the office manager & whenever I needed something he always rushed to get it fixed (e.g. sink, toilet, etc). i accidentally mailed my money order with my car payment and told them i would be late and they were totally cool with it and understood.
I would've given 5 star but there was a confusion when i gave my 30 day notice. i took my rent into the office and told them verbally i was giving my 30 day notice & everyone seemed fine with it. well when it came down to moving
