Blackbob Pet Hospital is a locally owned and operated veterinary practice located in Olathe, KS. For your convenience early morning drop-offs, same day, lunchtime, and weekend appointments are offered to work around your busy schedule. Blackbob Pet Hospital in Olathe, KS is proud to be an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care. AAHA regularly evaluates our hospital to ensure that we meet or exceed the association's standards for patient care, hospital services and equipment.
Stephanie is a veterinary technician who joined our team in 2015. She has dogs, a cat, and a bird. She has a special interest in making fearful dogs feel comfortable and helping their owners. Lisa is a Veterinary Technician who joined our team in 2007. She has several cats, two are foster fails found in a field 2 years ago.
We offer a variety of services here at Blackbob Pet Hospital in Olathe. Our services include comprehensive exams and preventative care, surgery, vaccinations, pet illness and daytime urgent care, dentistry, ultrasound, radiology, pet lodging, grooming and more. Our voluntary AAHA accreditation is another step in our commitment to the quality of the care your pet receives and the environment the care is given in.

Our pup Max is well taken care of here. The staff are so friendly and gentle towards him. Taegan is the best groomer! We see Dr Weingartner. Her bedside manner is what won me over. She was understanding of us being new doggy parents. She also is fully transparent about pricing and recommends all options even at home prevention. 10/10 recommended

We love them here! They truly care for our pets. They always take our calls. If we have to wait it isn’t long. My dogs have been boarded here and the staff truly loves them. I’ve called to check on our Pets and no problem reading off the notes me. We love the groomer, worth the wait! We had a dog pass away and they were right there to support me and my family. They truly are the best! We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! Called to let Blackbob Pet Hospital know I’d be 5 minutes late AND asked if that would be ok or if I should just reschedule - I was told that it would be fine and to continue on our way. Arrived at Blackbob Pet Hospital and was greeted by Maddie over the phone (previously talked with someone whose name started with a T not sure what it was, exactly) and she told me the nurse would be out shortly. Only to call back a few minutes later and tell me another appointment has arrived and my dogs time was almost up anyways so we could not be seen. Super unprofessional, had

Set an appointment for my pet online. Earliest they had was about two weeks out and at around 9am. Took the morning off from work and was all set to go. About 30 minutes before my appointment the receptionist calls to tell me that the Vet I had the appointment with no longer works there and hasn’t worked there in some time. I’d have to reschedule for a later date. Morning was already wasted and time was taken off of work. No thanks, taking my pet’s care somewhere a bit more reliable.

I've brought both my cat and dog here. When I had to put my cat down, the staff took as much time as I needed, we kind, caring, gentle, and patient. My dog had a bacterial infection from a sting and Dr. Meyer was happy to work him in even though they were swamped. She treated him with love and took the time to make sure I was well informed. She was also happy to work with my budget to find the best option for Momo.

We've been there a short time and up till yesterday had no complaints. But our recent experience had some issues. We were given a quote, then told it might be twice that, then it was corrected finally. We were told we'd receive multiple texts before/after our dog's surgery.... we received NONE. We were also told we'd be notified when ready for pickup. WE had to call for a status.
I was told that wasn't normal and given a sincere apology.
I trust that our future experiences will by stellar as before. I'd still recommend them for a look-see.

My puppy, Lucy, got into the cats’ litter (dogs can be so gross sometimes!) and it made her very sick. Blackbob Pet Hospital was able to get her in within two hours. They were all so understanding and great… with her and us, I was worried I would be lectured for not watching my puppy more closely. They gave her treatment and she is going to be just fine. In fact, we just got home and she’s already back to trying to gnaw my arm off. 😉Reasonable pricing too. We will be bringing her back here for her well visits and puppy vaccines, and our cats as well. Our two pups have been patients at Blackbob Pet Hospital since the moment we adopted them - almost 4 years ago. We know they are in good hands whenever we drop them off for appointments or boarding.
The staff know our girls by name and they do their best to accommodate our needs when we need a last minute appointment or boarding. We are so thankful to have found a trustworthy place to care for our pups.

Meagan is one of the most amazing groomers my pup has been to. Not only does she look amazing every time I pick her up, but she is always perky and playful afterward! Meagan also is creative with her grooming… and dye jobs. I love telling her to surprise me, but she is also considerate of my wishes if I want to keep a certain cut or color. I took a rescue here and after $500 I still didn’t have answers I came in for. But did find a chronic pain issue. Scheduled revisit and confirmed time as I’m only available certain times due to my job. Got there for recheck and they said I was scheduled 2 hours earlier however I would have never agreed to that as it is impossible with my job. I… then decided that after the unneeded stress on dog and my inconvenience I would switch vets... have appointment scheduled with new vet and they won’t refill his pain meds unless seen. They would rather make the dog suffer for 2

Dr. Tina and her magical calming lotion totally screwed up the last day I got to spend with my dog. She didn’t help either by near closing time that we had to call and ask what was wrong. “He’s fine his speech… count is good” doesn’t reflect well when he’s struggling for breath. By that time we were off to blue pearl where he would die the next morning. Good job Tina I hope your magical calming lotion wacks out other dogs.
