Dennise handled a family matter for me. She saw past the emotions and kept the end goal in mind throughout. I felt that she truly followed everyone's best interests throughout, with a focus on the children's welfare while remaining reasonable and working towards a solution that everyone could live with.

No response to phone calls and emails. You receive a phone call from Chris when it is time for him to collect money. I had to deal with Chris Maurer for over 3 years and I could not change him because I was out of state and did not have the time to come to Illinois and interview lawyers. I attended court 2-3 times and did not see too much competence. Chris J Maurer drafts weak motions, pleadings, answers that have to be corrected for grammatical mistakes and factual errors and guess what you are charged for correction too. Orders are not forwarded timely so you are left to wonder as to what has

I sent an email requesting that no further action be taken, no further expense incurred, and to have the remainder of the retainer refunded promptly.
The itemized cost for this alone was $292.50.
$60 to review and respond to clients email regarding refund.
$82.50 to organize and scan documents for closure of file.
$150 to draft closing letter.
Total expense incurred was $933 for a single letter, much of which I had written because the original was riddled with factual and grammatical errors, which cost more money to correct. Had it been written correctly in the first place, I would have saved

Billing went quite a bit over what was expected for a very simple document in comparison to others getting more complicated but similar work done. I feel like I was extremely mislead by these people.
They are lawyers and I don't have enough money to go after lawyers on their own turf so I will just have to eat the cost.
If any of these things are concerns of yours then I encourage you to keep looking.
