Services
Whether your interest in our services is a desire for prudent estate planning, or necessitated by an urgent need for counsel and legal assistance, our firm offers comprehensive solutions in the following areas. Probate - Testate (Existing Will), Probate - Intestate (No will or invalid Will), Affidavit of Death and Heirship (in lieu of will), Contested Estates, Mediation, Estate Administration.
Preceded by the office of Humphrey and Jones, the firm has been a trusted resource for elder law in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle region for over 50 years. Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from West Texas A&M University in 1999, and graduated from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2003.
We draft wills, powers of attorney, advanced directives to physicians and family, trusts, and other estate planning documents with a focus on elder law issues. If your desire is to avoid probate and mitigate inheritance taxes, or see that a special needs child is provided for from your estate, we can assist you in crafting an estate plan tailored specifically for your needs.
We are dedicated to helping the elderly and disabled in accessing the quality care they need and in receiving the full extent of government benefits they have earned. We work to ensure that our clients have the benefit of every legal opportunity to protect and preserve their homes and other assets for the benefit of their spouse and other heirs.
Once an individual has passed, too often it is their grieving spouse or children who are left with the challenging issues of probating a person's estate. Probate is the process by which a court appoints an individual to administer and distribute the assets of the deceased person. Ideally, we begin managing estates and planning in advance of this eventual certainty.
