We realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
Sometimes you might not be able to start your day because the minute you wake up, thoughts of fear, panic, and pure anxiety flood in leaving you feeling stuck, frozen, and unable to be productive. You find yourself not being able to put in your best with your relationships and at work due to these highly intrusive thoughts that just won't go away.
Is there any peculiar behavior or attitude your child seems to portray that keeps you up at night? Are you worried that your child might not be as excited about the many things kids his/her age swoon over? Is your child rebelling against your entire family? Do you wish for a way you could become more in-tune with your child's behavioral patterns in the bid to get closer to them?
Maybe they complain about headaches, stomach aches, or disrupted sleep. If your child is afraid to try new things, continuously questions things, needs reassurance, and is emotional when things are outside of routine, they may be suffering from anxiety.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or GAD, is noticed in children that seem to worry too much about basic things like their grades, what to eat, what to wear, relationships, acceptance, and who constantly seek approval and reassurance.Separation Disorder is experienced in children separated from a parent or guardian.

Testing boundaries is a part of adolescence, however, what you're noticing in your child goes beyond the usual cadence. Your child has started acting out in school, during extracurricular activities, and at home with you and their siblings. They throw tantrums and are expressing themselves angrily in a way that you are not used to.

I'm sorry to those at Sunrise Counseling if this sounds harsh but mental health treatment is very serious and needs to be treated as such.
My biggest issues: Appointments are always on different days of week and different times of day. Also, how can someone claim to be specialized in DBT and then proceed to do a normal session of simply talking like any other therapist?
Unless you have MILD anxiety and depression, do not waste your time here. Or anywhere in the area for that matter. Ask your psychiatrist to refer you to a decent PSYCHOLOGIST with a doctorate level degree.
